REGION I: ILOCOS REGION

An exciting new frontier in Philippine trekking are the mountains of Ilocos, which lie at the northern edge of the majestic
Cordillera range. These mountains are lush and tropical though at times they reach the lofty, coniferous forests akin to
the more southern peaks of Benguet and Ifugao. The views are fantastic the Ilocos plains with such beautiful
landmarks like the Laoag River and the windmills of Bangui; here the huge island of Luzon is at its northern border,
facing South China Sea.

WATERFORM: Paoay Lake


LOCATION: Ilocos Norte

Paoay Lake, locally known as Dacquel a Danum, is a lake in the municipality of Paoay in northwestern Luzon in the
Philippines. It is the largest lake in the province of Ilocos Norte and one of the largest natural lakes in the area.
REGION II: CAGAYAN VALLEY
LANDFORM: Mt. Iraya
LOCATION: Basco, Batanes

Mt. Iraya is a very important landmark for the Ivatans, and is steeped in legend. Elder Ivatan folk say that whenever
someone dear to the people departs, a ring of clouds forms around the mountain. Also, the elders speak of old eruption
of Iraya, and points to the holes near the summit as the crater from which lava and steam spewed out.

In Cassily Lake,clusters of brightly colored cotteges are being constructed through the courageous cooperation of every
Tuaoeos.
REGION III: CENTRAL LUZON
LANDFORM: Mt. Natib
LOCATION: Orani, Bataan

Mount Natib is a dormant volcano and caldera complex in the province of Bataan on western Luzon Island of the
Philippines. The volcano complex occupies the northern portion of the Bataan Peninsula.

WATERFORM: Tarlac River


LOCATION: Tarlac

Tarlac River is a river in Central Luzon, Philippines, covering a drainage area of 1,900 square kilometers traversing the
provinces of Tarlac and Pangasinan.
REGION IV-A: CALABARZON
LANDFORM: Mt. Gulugod-Baboy
LOCATION: Anilao, Mabini, Batangas

Located in Southern Batangas, the peninsula is more known for the diving resorts of Anilao the birthplace of Philippine
scuba diving. Since dive enthusiasts are also enthusiasts for anything outdoor, they began exploring the hills, and soon,
Gulugod Baboy became a hiking destination on its right, although today it remains a popular sidetrip to a diving
escapade to Anilao, or to the nearby Sombrero or Maricaban islands.

WATERFORM: Lake Pandin


LOCATION: San Pablo, Laguna

Pandin and Yambo are twin crater lakes separated by a narrow strip of land. They are part of the Seven Lakes system in
San Pablo, and are situated at Brgy. San Lorenzo in San Pablo City of Laguna province in the Philippines
REGION IV-B: MIMAROPA

LOCATION: Baco, Oriental Mindoro

WATERFORM: Kayangan Lake


LOCATION: Coron, Palawan

Lake Kayangan is one of Corons primary attractions. Accessible by a steep 10-minute climb, the crystal-clear waters of
Lake Kayangan are nestled into the mountain walls; underwater is like a moonscape. Theres a little wooden walkway
and platform to stash your things if you go for a swim. Dont expect privacy or quiet, though, as the lagoon where
bangkas unload passengers looks like a mall parking lot at noon.
REGION V: BICOL REGION
LANDFORM: Mt. Pulog
LOCATION: Bacon, Sorsogon

Mt. Pulog in the municipality of Bacon is one of Bicols best-kept hiking secrets. It is, of course, not to be mistaken with
Mt. Pulag, the famous highest mountain in Luzon, which is also sometimes pronounced Pulog, and therefore spelled as
such.

WATERFORM: Sumlang Lake


LOCATION: Camalig, Albay

This place, with its calm glittering surface, inspires a relaxing afternoon wading out in a bamboo raft outfitted with a
stylish set of chairs made from abaca. Cruise down the lake, or rent out a paddle board or kayak, while marveling at the
grandeur that is the Mayon Volcano.
REGION VI: WESTERN VISAYAS
LANDFORM: Mt. Madjaas
LOCATION: Culasi, Antique

Madjaas means mataas in some local dialect, but in English it can suitably described as lofty instead of just tall. This
loftiness will definitely be felt in the summit which opens up to the view of Western Panay island and the surrounding
seas, but it extends to the mossy forests of the mountain, in which several unique flora and found have been identified.

WATERFORM: Jawili Falls


LOCATION: Tangalan, Aklan

Jawili Falls has seven basins descending like giant stairs. With seven natural pools, seven natural showers, and seven
natural diving platforms to choose from, you shouldnt worry about the crowd.
REGION VII: CENTRAL VISAYAS
LANDFORM: Osmea Peak
LOCATION: Dalaguete, Cebu

Osmea Peak is situated in Mantalongon, Dalaguete also known as the Vegetable Basket of Cebu or Little Baguio
because of the vast vegetable farms in the area. The mountain is actually a series of rugged peaks that have been
compared with the Chocolate Hills of Bohol because of its interesting formations.

WATERFORM: Kawasan Falls


LOCATION: Badian, Moalboal, Cebu

Kawasan Falls is a magnificent three-level cascade of clear spring water in Matutinao, Badian around 100 kilometers
from Cebu City. The main source of the Kawasan Falls or level 3 is the first stop for climbers following the itinerary
below.
REGION VIII: EASTERN VISAYAS
LANDFORM: Mt. Tres Marias
LOCATION: Almeria, Biliran

The name Tres Marias was drawn from the three peaks that comprise the mountain. The highest, at 1315 MASL, is an
emerging hiking destination in the Leyte-Samar area.

WATERFORM: Tinago Falls


LOCATION: Caibiran, Biliran

Tinago Falls is just one of the waterfalls found in Biliran and is the most famous of all in the province.
REGION IX: ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA
LANDFORM: Mt. Timolan
LOCATION: Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur

The Mount Timolan Protected Landscape is a protected area covering Mount Timolan and its surrounding forested
landscape in the region of Zamboanga Peninsula on Mindanao in the Philippines.

WATERFORM: Hermosa Falls


LOCATION: Zamboanga

The falls is a hidden treasure of Sitio Papaya, Pamucutan, an upland farming village, west of Zamboanga City.
REGION X: NORTHERN MINDANAO
LANDFORM: Mt. Dulang-Dulang
LOCATION: Lantapan, Bukidnon

The second-highest mountain in the Philippines also possesses one of the most impressive forests in the country. Mt.
Dulang-Dulang, chief among the high mountains the Kitanglad mountain range, possesses a mystical aura that visitors
compare to the elven forests of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings.

Tinago Falls is a waterfall on the Agus River, in Linamon town, just outside Iligan City, Lanao del Norte in the southern
Philippine island of Mindanao.
REGION XI: DAVAO
LANDFORM: Mount Sibulan
LOCATION: Talomo, Davao City

Mount Sibulan is located in Talomo, Davao City near a resort called Forest Hill Resort in the province of Region XI.

WATERFORM: Tudaya Falls


LOCATION: Davao del Sur

Tudaya Falls is a waterfall on the Davao del Sur stream. It is located in Mount Apo Natural Park, Bansalan, Davao del Sur,
in Mindanao in the Philippines. At 100 metres, it is the tallest waterfall in Mt. Apo Natural Park. This waterfall flows into
the Sibulan River, which flows to the Davao Gulf.
REGION XII: SOCCSKSARGEN

LOCATION: South Cotabato

Mount Parker, locally known as Melibengoy, is a stratovolcano on Mindanao island in the Philippines. It is located in the
province of South Cotabato, 30 kilometres west of General Santos City and 44 kilometres south of Koronadal City.

WATERFORM: Lake Holon


LOCATION: South Cotabato

In the province of South Cotabato lies what can be considered as one of Mindanaos prized gems: Lake Holon, which
mirrors the rich biodiversity of Mindanao. Now that it is open to the public one year after the local government closed it
for rehabilitation, a handful of tourists now visit Lake Holon, a place considered to be sacred among the members of the
Tboli.
REGION XIII: CARAGA
LANDFORM: Mont Hilong-Hilong
LOCATION: Agusan del Norte

Mt. Hilong-hilong, situated in the Diwata Range, is the highest peak in Northeastern Mindanao with an elevation of
2,102 meters above sea level. A favorite destination of mountain climbers, Mt. Hilong-hilong is known for its pristine
waterfalls, a lake and as a confirmed nesting site of the critically endangered Philippine eagle. This mountain is near the
boundaries of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur provinces.

WATERFORM: Lake Mainit


LOCATION: between the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Norte

Lake Mainit is the fourth largest lake in the Philippines, having a surface area of 173.40 square kilometres (66.95 sq mi).
The lake is also the deepest lake in the country with maximum depth reaching 223 metres (732 ft).
ARMM: AUTONOMOUS REGION IN MUSLIM MINDANAO
Landform: Mount Ragang (Volcano)
Location: Lanao del Sur

Ragang has an elevation of 2,815 metres (9,236 ft) and a base diameter of 32 km (20 mi).
It is the most active volcano on Mindanao, and is part of a string of volcanoes in what volcanologists call the Central
Mindanao Arc. It is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines, which are all part of the Pacific ring of fire. Its last
eruption was July 1916.

Landform: Sleeping Beauty Mountain
Location: Province of Kalinga

The mountain is called as such because the silhouette of the northern ridge resembles a sleeping woman.
Waterform:Apayao River
Location: Apayao Province

It flows from an extensive watershed in the western slopes of the province, flows past the town of Kabugao and runs
into the Pacific Ocean at the coastal town of Abulug. The river is picturesque through much of its length, and features a
number of waterfalls and other features as it runs through the centre of the province

One of the tourist destinations during holiday seasons.

WATERFORM: Taguig River


Location: Taguig City

The Taguig River is a river of the Philippines, a tributary of the Pasig River. It eventually joins the Pateros River, forming
the common border between Pateros and Makati.

During July 26, this river was known for a festival called Sta. Anang Banak Taguig River Festival where they honor its
patroness St. Anne (the mother of the Virgin Mary).
XVIII: NIR: NEGROS ISLAND REGION
Landform:Mt. Mandalagan
Location: Silay City, Negros Occidental

Richly forested, with majestic almaciga trees, and replete with rivers, waterfalls, and hidden lakes, Mt. Mandalagan is
classified by PHIVOLCS as a potentially active volcano, and indeed, its most prominent and unique features are those
wrought by volcanic activity.

Waterforms: Lake Balanan


Location: Siaton, Negros Oriental

A freshwater lake in the forested mountains of the southern portion of the island of Negros, with a shape resembling a
figure of eight, the narrowest point between the two main portions of the lake being only 90 meters (300 ft) wide. The
lake is surrounded by mountain ranges, and is fed by three tributaries, all located in the northern end.
