ooking back at the Normandy
landings of 1944, we see
them as a huge success,
the beginning of the end for
Germanys armed forces in the
west. Of course, it was anything
but plain sailing for anyone involved, especially
those involved in the near-shambles on
Omaha. At the other end of the Allies landing
area, there was reason to be anxious too
when the only German armoured formation in

Javelin: A javelin is good for fishing, and better
for hunting animals than a spear due to its
range. A javelin grants 1 Bonus Momentum on
Survival tests for food near bodies of water.
A javelin grants a reroll of 1d20 when making
Survival tests to hunt land animals for food.

Sling: A sling yields more hunting bounty,


whether more small animals or a large animal.
Slings are easy to find ammunition for and
have great range. A sling grants 1 Bonus
Momentum to Survival tests for hunting.

Axe: An axe can be used to cut trees for


traps and barricades, to build shelter, and to
gather wood for a fire. An axe pommel can
be used to hammer. Axes with a spiked head
can break stone and pry open doors, etc.
Like a dagger, an axe counts as an all-round
survival kit, negating the increased Difficulty
for not having proper tools. In addition, an
axe grants -1 Difficulty to Craft tests to build
traps in wooded areas. In wooded areas, an
axe allows a reroll of 1d20 for Survival tests
to find shelter and on Resistance tests vs the
elements. Finally, due to easily allowing the
collection of firewood, an axe grants 1 Bonus
Momentum on tests to resist cold or survive
against starvation.

Sword: Swords, especially hacking swords,

very familiar. We who worked in the studio setting assisted
with various licensed products, and gaming continues that
tradition nicely.

Q: And, of course, we always need to ask: Which is your


favorite captain?

Oh, no, youre not going to get me to admit that I think


I like Picard the best. Theyre all wonderful, or else how
would they have advanced to captain? Make of that what
