I found this news in the Washington post, an American daily newspaper.

The name of the paper that I chose is: This is what happens when the
Arctic warms twice as fast as the rest of the planet, it was in the
section of energy and environment.

(Nota de la imagen: The extent of sea ice in September 2014 was the sixth lowest
since satellite observations began in 1979).

It said that for a second straight year, the Arctic is warming faster than any
other place in the world, so walrus populations in the areas Pacific and
Atlantic Ocean regions are thinning along with the ice sheets that are critical
for their survival.
Overall, it tell us that the outlook for the frozen top of the world is bleak.
Since the turn of the last century the Arctics air temperature has increased
by more than 5 degrees due to global warming. Warmer air and sea
temperatures melt ice that in turn expands oceans and causes sea-level rise,
which scientists say presents a danger to cities along the entire Atlantic
coast, from Miami to Washington to Boston. Walrus and other arctic
mammals that give birth on ice sheets are struggling with the change.
So, under these conditions, the permafrost (permafrost or is soil at or below
the freezing point of water 0 C) will become unstable beneath any
infrastructure such as roads and buildings, so the result will be dramatic
effects on infrastructure and ecosystems. Permafrost degradation is going to
touch the whole landscape through changes in water distribution and
changes in vegetation that will affect wildlife habitat and the aesthetic of the
parks.
When I saw this news I thought in the damage that we have done to our
world. It's more incredible yet the fact that we don't worry about it, even, we
don't know about that. And if we ignore a problem like this to give priority
to the narcissism, it's almost sure that not only the world will suffer, also
millions of animals will do.
