AND ALL NAMES TOLD BY CLIENT

Our client, Justin King, recently won the National Idol Regional Contest, a signing

competition in Chicago. Although he was supposed to become a signer, he claims he was in a

car accident and can no longer perform. On or around April 5th, Justin was at his agents office

where he signed a contract with MCI records. Although their main office is in Nashville,

Tennessee, MCI Records had agreed to meet with Justin at their Chicago office. The contract

stated that Justin would earn a guaranteed amount of $275,000 for three years plus a percentage

of sales. The accident happen after leaving his agents office also located in Chicago.
Justin states that the car accident happened on his way home after leaving his agents

office. Justin was driving his motorcycle home on Interstate 57, which is just south of Chicago,

and was driving 60 65 miles per hour in the left lane. Both Justin and the truck were driving in

the same direction on Interstate 57. As he was driving home, Justin states that a beer truck came

from behind flashing his lights and so he moved into the right lane to get out of the trucks path.

Although Justin is not 100% positive of what the trucks name is, he thinks that it was Coops,

Coops Light, or Coops Ultra.

The next thing Justin remembers is waking up in the emergency room in Paxton. He does

not remember any more details of the accident. Justin states that when he woke he realized that

his face was in a lot of pain and that he jaws had been wired shut to hold his face together. Justin

states that the doctor informed him that his face had been wired shut because he had nine broken

bones in his face. He was admitted to ICU in Paxton, where he stayed for two days. The day

after Justin left the ICU; his agent from MCI Records called and said that he had to withdraw

National Idol competition.

For the following three days, Justin was forced to eat from a feeding tube and was unable

to talk. Against doctor recommendations, Justin attempted to loosen the wires in his jaw so that

he could continue practicing his singing for the competition. This action resulted in him

receiving more medication and being handcuffed to the bed so he could not attempt to loosen the

wires again. The next day he woke with his family and agent in his room and wrote them a letter

that he wanted to be transferred to another hospital. He was then transferred by an ambulance

company based in Bloomington to the Metropolitan Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was

given a private room and was no longer handcuffed; however, his face was still in a great deal of

pain. A few days after the transfer, his doctor came to check on his and noticed that his jaws

were moving because the wires were loose. As a result, the left side of his face was higher than

the right. They then brought in another doctor who attempted to reset the bones in Justins face,

and in addition to causing him a great deal more of pain, this procedure did not work.
As a result of the car accident and his hospitalization, Justins contract with MCI Records

had been cancelled due to the face that he can no longer perform. In addition to losing the

contract, Justin is on anti-depressants because he attempted suicide. He has spent the last year at

a psychiatric hospital in Kansas City. Moreover, he is on a lot of medication and has to see a

psychiatrist. Justin states that he receives a medical bill every month. His current total equals

$145,000. Furthermore, his doctor has informed him that he will need additional medical

services, such as plastic surgery. In combination with his psychiatric visits, the doctor estimates

that his future bills will exceed $100,000.
