Dear ASEM Foreign Ministers and all Delegation members and all participants

On behalf of all ASEM committees I deliver my welcome

I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to stand in front of the participants to
deliver an opening speech representing ASEM and representing my country. In the midst of
today's highly complex world, which is marked by advances in information and
communication technology, diplomacy poses no small challenges.

The fact of the technological and information revolution has turned the world into a kind of
small village. The world is practically unlimited. Events that occur in different parts of the
world in real time at the same time can be witnessed even often can be felt directly impact by
people around the world.

This challenge is not easy and certainly not light. But that does not mean we have to stand
idle and doing nothing.

The diplomatic engine must adapt faster, more precisely, intelligently and measurably. The
diplomatic engine must work more quickly. The development that must also be observed
today is the strengthening tendency of world order to lead to multipolar system. The
emergence of non-traditional forms of security threats as well as global problems affecting
domestic conditions such as energy security, food security, climate change, and even human
security issues.

All of these factors undeniably encourage us to continually improve, so that the diplomatic
machine is not only responsive to rapid development, but more than that it must be pro-active
in the struggle for common interests. In this connection, what matters most to my observation
is its human resources.

Human resources become keywords.

At least the focus of this educational process should be able to create diplomats that have 4
skills: expertise as a superior lobbyist; good intelligence analyst, opportunity seeker or
intelligent opportunity seeker; as well as image builder or image builder about a good
country.

With these 4 characters or skills, diplomacy can be run actively, creatively and innovatively.

In addition to the character and skill that must be born from an educational process, what
should also be considered is the cultivation of professional corporate culture that is
accountable, and based on the dedication and integrity of the character from the beginning,
we emphasize from the beginning.

Education and coaching processes must be continuously improved to fit the needs and
demands of today's world. Education and training of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should
be able to create a reliable diplomatic engine.
Corporate culture based on merit in order to form the character of a quality diplomat.
Corporate culture away from improper acts, abuse of office, and corruption, collusion and
nepotism.

It is a common commitment to take a zero tolerance stance against all forms of abuse and
abuse of authority. This behavior pattern can be and I believe it can be planted as early as
possible.

Therefore we as a representative of human resources of our country, as a bridge of diplomacy

in our country let's hold each other's hand and reach out to solve all problems. Let us sit as a
family. Diplomacy is like we are a family, as if we are a father for our country that always
keep and protect the family and provide the best for the family and as we as a mother for
friendly countries that always maintain and establish good relationships outside as well
always keeping good familys name.

Let us seize the day

Move forward.
Build a world that is full of peace, stability, and prosperity.
Thank you.
