HEALING THE SICK 2 – by Pastors Sean and Aimee Pinder

In these last days, God is working amazing signs, wonders, and miracles by the
hands of His apostles and prophets. Jesus commanded us in Mark 16:15-18: “…Go ye
into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature…And these signs shall follow
them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new
tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt
them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Simply put, wherever
we go in this world and preach the Gospel, signs should follow. God never had any
other plan for demonstrating the reality of Jesus Christ to mankind. The Apostle Paul
said in I Corinthians 2:4-5: “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing
words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith
should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” God desires our faith
to be in His power, which is manifested through signs, wonders, and miracles.

On Good Friday, 2010, I had the privilege of being the guest speaker at a local
church in Dallas, Texas. The anointing of the Holy Ghost was strong, and the power of
God was present to heal the sick. From the microphone, I asked anyone who needed a
physical healing in their body to come up toward the platform. One young man came
forward with a soft cast on his left arm. The previous Monday, the boy was playing
football when he broke his left elbow. He went to the doctors, who put the elbow in a
brace and told the boy that it would take three months for the bones to heal. When I
saw the young man in the crowd, God told me He was going to heal him, so I asked the
young man to come forward. My wife and I gently laid hands on his arm and prayed in
the mighty name of Jesus. As we prayed, we literally felt the bones in the boy’s arm
move back together. We knew at that very moment that the boy was healed. To
demonstrate, I handed the boy my heavy bag that I had brought to the service. I asked
him to lift the bag using his left arm, and he lifted it clear above his head. I then called
for his mother to come forward and I helped her take the bandage off of the boy’s arm.
To the astonishment of everyone in the crowd, the boy bent his elbow up and down,
demonstrating that he had been made completely whole. The people in the crowd went
wild, praising God for the awesome miracle He had performed in their midst.

In John 14:12, Jesus told His disciples, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall
he do; because I go unto my Father.” Can you believe that Jesus actually promised that
you and I will work the same kinds of miracles that He worked while He was on the
earth? Matthew 4:23 also says, “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their
synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of
sickness and all manner of disease among the people.” In addition, look at Acts 10:38:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went
about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with
him.” No one is left out. Every person everywhere that is sick or diseased can be
healed by the miraculous power of Jesus Christ. Everywhere my wife and I go, we see
miracles just like the young man mentioned above: the blind see, the deaf hear,
cripples walk, cancer disappears, and many other powerful miracles of healing take
place. All we do is preach the Gospel, and God confirms the preaching of His Word
through signs, wonders and miracles every time. It is awesome to know that Jesus
Christ is “the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
