RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
After the occurrence of the October 9, 1995 earthquake (Mw 8), with
epicenter off Colima-Jalisco coasts, several aftershocks were recorded
using digital broad-band seismographs in Ciudad Guzmn, located
mainly on soft soil, where important damages have been observed as
a consequence of big earthquakes in the past. With the records
obtained at three soft sites and one hard site, considered as reference
station, relative amplification factors were estimated using spectral
ratios, which show averages values of 20 for frequencies around 1Hz.
Also, applying the Nakamura technique, based on the spectral ratios of
both horizontal and vertical components at a given site, amplification
factors were obtained resulting lower than those from the relative
amplification analysis.
