In Haiti, there is a plant called fey lougawou (Kalanchoe pinnata), which is celebrated for its curing capabilities. This plant is known as Miracle Leaf, Life

My Fey Lougawou Plant

Main Constituents:

bryophillin A and C- anticarcinogenic

beta-carotene

Some Benefits:

anti-bacterial, anti-rheumatic, anti-hypertensive

used to treat upper respiratory infections

If I remember well the infusion is also used to help dissolve bladder/kidney stones.

That's odd because it contains calcium oxolate crystals which actually cause kidney stones.

That was a great post. I wanted to find the technical name for the plant and have found it here.
I also would like to comment on why Haitians call it "Fy Lougawou". They believe that, if you have the plant in your house, the 'Lougawou' [Flying
Werewolf] will not come near your house. Thus, they use it as a repellant against the mythical being.

In Haiti Lougarou is used for everything ,especially when you are in the countryside .Because it can help for blood circulation imply
Lougarou can also help with varicose.My great parents were midwifes,they used this plant for everything.Lougarou can grow even on a
piece of papertowel.

boil the leaf and you can put the water in the fridge and have a shot in the morning or at night. Depending on how high your blood
pressure is. Do not take it for more than five days if you're taking it twice a day, as this lowers your blood pressure quickly. Make sure
and check your blood pressure regularly while drinking it, so you'll know how little or more to take depending on how it reacts to your
body and lifestyle. My mother has been using this for as long as I can remember.

Hi someone gave me a small plant so i google in to see and end up here .I was having problems with my underarms so i heat the leaves and applied
it soon enough the pain was gone and by morning the two lumps was not there anymore. I like it!!!!

I have always known this plant to be a must have in almost every west Indian home/back yard garden. My mother would heat the leafy over the
stove and allow to cool then squeeze a few drops into an infected eye for almost immediate relief of conjunctivitis or irritation of the eye. It was
also heated and soft candle applied to the hot leaf would be placed directly unto bruises or aches to the body. What a wonderful plant.

Yes, you can grow a plant by merely putting the leaf in the soil...the roots will come out from the leaf itself eveb if you only put it on a dipper with
water...it's a miracle leaf of life
