1. In my opinion, our capabilities as humans are limitless. We are capable of more than what we
think. We all have values and hidden talents that we have yet to discover. We dont have the
whole idea of us being capable of doing a lot of things. We all contain or own unique abilities.
Man is always something more than what he knows of himself. Is a statement worth believing.

2. Page 57: Entry Point

No one can learn everything in an instant.
Each of us have our own set of skills and talents.
We all have different things/sayings that we believe in.
We all have different point of views.
Every man has value, you just have to see it.

3. Experiencing pain and suffering is one of the ways to know yourself more. When you are in pain,
you learn more of what helps you know how to take care of yourself. When we are in pain, we
tend to find remedies to relieve the pain we are feeling. This leads to us knowing more of who we
are and what were all about. Experiencing pain reveals our truest selves.

4. Many ideas and thoughts strike my mind when I see people in the world suffering. I see these
people, I think to myself that are we living today just to feel pain, get over it then repeat?. We
find ways to save ourselves from the suffering, yet I still think there is no cure to anything. I also
realized that socializing is a must do for human beings but some human beings to look away and
keep themselves hidden just because of the problems they cant get through.

5. Rene Descartes already told the answer. He does not want to prove that nothing is real, he is just
questioning the fact of what we are. We can then learn to challenge and question the supposed
truths in nature. He knows that there is no proof that the world doesnt exist and he states that.
It is thinking that creates the person. Thinking is what separates humans from the rest of the
animal kingdom. Humans rely on their senses to gather information. However, the power of
reasoning through the mind has far more authority than the power of the bodys senses. A thing
that thinks is the perfect description for who we are, and what we are.

7. Study the song Reflection from the movie Mulan. Make a reaction/reflection on how its lyrics relate
to the duality of body and soul

Dualism is the idea or theory that an object, an idea or the whole world is split into two
parts. Each person has their own unique way of thinking and perceiving things. Typically humans
are characterized as having both a mind and body. This is known as dualism. The mind and body
both exist as separate entities. However, the mind can control the actions done by the body. The
song Reflection from the film Mulan totally relates to the duality of the body and the soul.
From the lyrics, we can see that Mulan knows that she can't be what society expects her to be -
that perfect porcelain doll. It's just not going to happen, and as a result, she questions herself. If
she's not that perfect bride or daughter, then what is she? Who is she supposed to be?

8. When the body dies, the soul also dies with the body.
This states that when one individual dies physically, the soul also dies. But no one really
knows what happens to a persons soul after they die physically but according to the bible, A
soul is a living being. A soul is always a combination of two things: body plus breath. A soul
cannot exist unless body and breath are combined. God's Word teaches that we are souls.
According to God's Word, souls do die! We are souls, and souls die. Man is mortal (Job 4:17). Only
God is immortal (1 Timothy 6:15, 16). The concept of an undying, immortal soul goes against the
Bible, which teaches that souls are subject to death. Hence, according to my belief, I have to agree
with the saying that When the body dies, the soul also dies with the body.

9. What is the importance of the union between the body and the soul in making choices for your
existence?

Each human being has his or her own soul. A body is just a robot made of flesh, bones,
tissues etc., and a toy of the spirits. Soul is nothing but energy needed for the functionality of a
body. This is not a spirit or anything else. A mind is related to a body. It is like the mind of a
computer. After the destruction of the computer completely you will not find its mind. The brain is
the medium that connects the soul to the body. Your soul controls all your bodily actions. Unity is
very important between the body and the soul when it comes to making choices for a persons
existence.
