Gauge Front Panel
CO 49 sts.
Gauge - the number of stitches and rows per inch - is the key
to a well-fitting garment. In each pattern, we have specified a Row 1: K7, * K1, P1, rep from * across ending K8.

Armhole
BO 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec one st each side EOR 15 times: 17 sts. BO.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams, starting at shoulder edge and matching
12 sts of side front section to 12 sts of back; 3 sts rem on
each side at back neck. At right shoulder sew rem 3 sts at back
neck to 3 sts of right front side. Sew rem 4 sts of front panel,
overlapping front section. Keeping overlap, blind stitch right
front panel to front section down side.
Neckband
Row 1 (right side): Starting at left shoulder of front panel pick
up and K 19; K 18 from holder; pick up and K 19 up right
front panel; K 26 from back neck holder: 82 sts.
Row 2: * K1, P1, rep from * across.
Row 3 (buttonhole row): K1, YO, K2 tog (buttonhole made);
* P1, K1, rep from * across.
Rows 4-6: Rep Row 2. BO loosely in ribbing.
Sew 6 buttons on each side section to correspond to
buttonholes. Sew one button on left shoulder in back
neckband; measure between buttonholes for second shoulder
button, sewing it 1/2" from BO row on back of sweater. Set
sleeves in armholes.
Booties (make 2)
CO 40 sts. K 8 rows (4 ridges).
Patt Row 1 (right side): K6, P2, K4, P2, K 12; P2, K4, P2, K6.
Row 2: K5, P1, K2, P4, K2, P1, K 10; P1, K2, P4, K2, P1, K5.
Row 3: K6, P2, sl 2 sts to cable needle, hold in back of work,
K2, K2 from cable needle; P2, K 12, P2, sl 2 sts to cable needle,
hold in back of work, K2, K2 from cable needle, P2, K6.
Row 4: Rep Row 2. Rep Patt Rows 1-4 until 33/4" from cast on
edge.
Beading Row: K1, * YO, K2 tog, rep from * across ending K1.
K 7 rows (3 ridges). Do not finish off.
Instep Shaping
Place first 13 sts on holder, attach new ball of yarn, knit center
14 sts, place last 13 sts on holder. Working on center 14 sts, K
23 more rows (12 ridges). Place 14 sts on holder.
Foot
With right side facing, K 13 from holder, pick up and K 14 on
side of instep, K 14 from holder, pick up and K 14 on other side of
instep, K 13 from holder: 68 sts.
K 20 rows (10 ridges). BO.
Starting at toe, sew bottom of foot and back seam.
Ties (make 2)
With crochet hook make chain 18" long. Weave through
beading row of booties.
