Seventh Semester Mechanical Engineering ME 6006 — DESIGN OF JIGS, FIXTURES AND PRESS TOOLS (Common to Automobile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical and Automation Engineering and Sixth Semester Manufacturing Engineering) ‘Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks Note: (i) _ Use of Approved Design Data Books permitted. Gi) Drawing sheets will be provided. (i) Drawings need not be drawn to scale but should follow standards, (iv) Assume missing dimensions suitably. Answer ALL questions, PART A — (10 x 2= 20 marks) 1. How the digs and fixtures help in reducing the cost of mass production? 2. What is meant by redundant location? How it can be avoided? Give example. 3.
