1. On which philosophies of education is the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum


anchored? Explain your answer. PROGRESSIVISM
Progressivism believe that there is no permanent in life. Everything changes.
Technological and scientific advancement as well as social developments are
some elements that needed to be introduced for the progress of an individual
or society. In our world today, competition played a major role in our society.
Competition that results to another competition. There is no end. Everybody
needs to adhere what is in the present rather than pursuing what may come.
The K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum focuses on the students need that
relates to his personal life and experiences in the present situation. It
introduces classroom simulation which will be encountered in the outside
environment.
2. Why is ones philosophy of education said to be ones windows to the world or
compass in life? Explain.
The windows allow individual to see what is behind the wall. It creates vivid
view on what is happening and how individual reacts towards his
environment. Compass
3. It is observed that beginning teachers somewhat lack emotional stability. What are
some of its causes? What should you do to counterfeit it?
4. Can one be a global teacher without teaching abroad? Write your comments.
Yes, he can. A global teacher needs not to be in another world to become a
global teacher. James Becker (1982) defined global education as an effort to
help individual learners to see the world as a single and global system and to
see themselves as a participant in that system. A learner can see the world
through the skills and appropriate attitude from a competitive teacher
equipped with worldwide perspectives. Prepares the learners to function in a
one world environment locally. Thus, the teacher who teaches this kind of
skills can be considered as a global teacher neglecting the need to work
abroad.
5. If given an opportunity, to experience teaching in another country, mentioned in our
past lesson, where would you like to teach? Why?
