INTRODUCTION
Evan Multi specialty Hospital and Research
Centre is being set up by enterprising team of
doctors in Muzaffarnagar on a well located plot in
the central part of the city. It is envisaged to have
State of the art facilities in the proposed hospital
having all the facilities of multi-specialty and
research Centre.

Muzaffarnagar is a city and a

municipal board in the Indian State of
Uttar Pradesh.The city was established
in Mughal period by a Sayyid Jagirdar,
Munawar Lashkar Ali, and so named in
honour of his father, Muzaffar Ali Khan.
It is a major steel and sugar
manufacturing hub of northern India[].
Many popular farmer leaders come
from Muzaffarnagar,Late Prime Minister
of India Chaudhary Charan Singh
belongs from Muzaffarnagar.

It is situated midway on Delhi and Dehradun National Highway (NH 58), the city is
also well connected with the national railway network.
THE SITE AND ITS LOCATION

The site is a trapezoidal shape of land having 2053.76 Sq.mt area with roads on its side.
The front of the plot abutting a main road on South, connecting old Delhi road to bypass
road, and the side of the plot touching the colony road on East.

The location also appears in the google map showing the predominantly residential area
in the vicinity but with mixed land use on the main road.

DESIGN CONCEPT

The proposed Evan Hospital having a

minimum 100 beds requirements and all
other facilities has been planned in such
a way that the efficiency of planning
remains the maximum with total
utilization of every inch of space.

The building is conceived as an iconic

structure with latest eco-friendly material
and finishes which will eventually qualify
for GRIHA 4/5 star rating to establish a
land mark in the field of health care
buildings in an around the
Muzaffarnagar.
.

SYSTEMS ADOPTED
The planning concept is focused
towards having the activities put up in
different floors in a hierarchical
manner by means of keeping higher
traffic centric activities being placed
in the lower levels / floors and the
once having lesser movement are
placed in upper floors.

PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR
PANEL ON TERRACE

The ground floor of the building is essentially kept for the patients reception, registration
and help desk which will facilitate the patients interface with the Doctors and Staff on duty to
further direct a patient towards OPD, Diagnostics or some other area of the hospital as the
case may be.
Besides there are souvenir shop, medical
shop, cafeteria and a well equipped
medical emergency set up having 10
bedded ward, Nurses and Doctors on duty
and related facilities. In addition to this
there are two general hospital elevators
and a staircase besides one service
elevator and a fire escape staircase,
strategically located to confirm to the fire
code requirements.

The lift core will have a faade of the Italian

marble and polished granite. The flooring
of public areas shall have granite including
the staircase. The indoor areas will have
the false ceiling of health grade metal false
ceiling.

Basement has provision of a few services

and the parking with Mechanical
ventilation. The basements have direct
connectivity to the upper floors of the
building by means of stairs and lift. Out of
the two lifts provided only one lift shall be
taken to the basement while the other one
shall start from Ground Floor and move
upwards.

Main Entrance on the ground has a

Helpdesk / Reception and waiting area
for the visitors as there shall be Access
Control System for the visitors in order to
better regulate the outsiders movement.

The lift lobby and the stairs are suitably located to effectively save the space for other
functions.
In todays context with growing pace of development
and eminent shortfall between demand and supply of
energy we need to design our buildings to be self
sustainable through massive passive energy systems
such as Solar Panels/ Photo Voltaic.

One of the most

important sources
of energy i.e. the
solar energy can
be collected by
means of solar
energy panels
installed on the
roof terrace of the
building which
can be taken into
account at the
time of design

thus retained can
be used in getting
the hot water
supply, cooking
and emergency SSG. ENVISION

The superior SGG Envision SKN is best
suited for commercial buildings which
include extensive glazing requirements.

SGG Envision SKN not only conforms

to the exacting norms of Green Building
(LEED) / TERI GRIHA, but also
surpasses the laid down standards. It is
the ideal glazing solution for energy
efficient sustainable green building
design requirements for every season.

PATH FINDING
Way finding is an environmental design
discipline, it must provide a strategic benefit to
the business of running a hospital in order to be
perceived as having value.

Destination terminology in health-care design

often utilizes numbering, lettering, and symbol
hierarchies to a great extent, along wit d
estimation names. The integration of the various
identification methodologies is crucial to a
workable system.

Universal design approaches Health-care facilities are used by a

large number of people with handicaps, both visual and physical, and
by people with a low proficiency in the national language.

The FMR technology is a single tank design unit;

incorporating

1.A bar screen,

2. A specially designed tank with synthetic media,
3.A lamella settler, and
4.A chlorine contact tank.

The FMR process refers to the operation of activated

sludge tanks in various configurations in a combination of

1) Suspended biomass,
2) MLSS (mixed liquid suspended solids) and
3) Attached biomass, which is attached to the FMR
media.
