Artist statement:

Currently my main preoccupation is based upon different media approaches and processes,
relations between them and their potential, which is raised from experience of drawing,
philosophy, movies and literature. And the idea of multiplication, the problem of reception and
memory concerning the produced works. The media in which those works are made is tending
to localize its boundaries. In this sense, I am also exploring connections of video media with
space, tactile, haptic space. I am deeply occupied with the issue of transparency, as opposed to
the hermeticism of works which are drowning in the landscape of cultural hegemony. I often
steer my work in the direction of logical polylemmas, where the number of questions and
options is increasing, as is the inability of generating them. The key motives are bound to the
local ontological horizon, from which I tend to spread them, or concretize them, all to create
chances for their development shifts.

Short biography:

Darko Vuki (1992, Belgrade, Serbia) is a Visual artist and author. He graduated Transmedia
research and Painting department at Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) in Belgrade. He enrolled the
PhD program at the same faculty.

His artistic practice is noted as divergent and related to huge variety of techniques, from
classical to new media. He participated in numerous local and international events, from
workshops, through presentations, screenings, lectures and festivals, to solo shows and group
exhibitions. The latest activities are: international display Aluminations at Frlunda kulturhus
in Gothenburg, participation in the show Transform...ation of Image at Museum of Modern
Art, Zagreb, Croatia. And upcoming partake at New York Film Week screening.

Occasionally he participate in the course: Temporality in modern and contemporary art

(History of art program at FFA, Belgrade) by giving short video presentations and
commentaries to open a certain discussion. He is a co-founder of a cultural center Catalysis, in
Belgrade, where he coordinated the content program and organized numerous video and film
projections, from 2014.
