15 INITIAL INCIDENT DESCRIPTION / NARRATIVE:

[On 9-15-2017 at 1835 hrs, I was working as uniform patrol when I was
dispatched to a stabbing at Lake City WY NE (Zaina Restaurant). The call
remarks read: IN FRONT, GO W/FIRE FOR MALE STABBED. While I was en route,
officers advised that the suspect was in custody.

When I arrived, I spoke with who was standing outside Zaina

Restaurant. He had bandages covering his abdomen. Officers observed a deep
laceration, approximately 6" long. He had difficulty speaking English, but
told me he was a worker at Zaina. He got into an argument with another worker
while preparing food in the kitchen. He could not recall what
the argument was about. He told me he wrestled with in the kitchen,
knocking into a shelf and breaking several items. grabbed a large
kitchen knife and tried to stab him. Another worker ) got between
himself and and grabbed arm. He tried to run away as
held back. As he was running from the kitchen, threw the knife at
him from about 5-10 feet, striking him in the abdomen. He then ran out the
front entrance to the restaurant. denied ever hitting or stabbing Sudani,
and told me he was just trying to get out. He refused to give an audio
statement.

I spoke with who said he saw and heard and arguing. He said
they were arguing about work. He ran to get in between the two when they
started physically attacking one another. He saw pick up a large kitchen
knife. He believed had one as well. He bear hugged , trying to keep
him from charging at . As was backing from the kitchen, threw

the knife at him, cutting him in the abdomen. refused to give a witness
statement.

I identified that was unable to speak English, so I asked the manager

) to translate for me. Through , told me he was
working in the kitchen when yelled at him for not telling him the food was
ready. said, "You have to tell me." He responded, "No, I work how I want."
then said, "Do you want me to break your face?" and head butted him in the
face. He was upset by this and they both started pushing each other. They
knocked into a shelf, breaking several items. They both picked up knives and
Issa cut him on the left forearm. I observed a bandage covering left
forearm placed by SFD before my arrival. Then grabbed him and held him
back. ran out the front entrance to the store. denied throwing a
knife and said he believed Issa cut himself.

When the owner arrived, he showed officers security video

footage of the event. There was no sound, but I was able to observe a verbal
altercation between starting at 1821 hrs. I saw them exchange
remarks and then move behind a large storage shelf. The shelf moved and a
decorative hookah fell, leading me to believe this is when they began shoving
one another. They re-entered view and I saw pick up an approximately 12"
long kitchen knife from the counter. I saw run between the two and
briefly separate them. Issa started to move toward the exit. held
Sudani back as he tried to push past him toward . I saw raise the
knife and throw it overhand in direction.

SFD Engine 16, AMR 908, and AMR 909 responded and treated both parties at the
scene. Both and were transported to Harborview. There was a
hospital guard placed on and he will be booked into KCJ at a later time.

SGT Brandon James screened the incident at the scene. Four knives were
collected and submitted into evidence. I notified the owner that detectives
would be following up with him to obtain his security video footage.
