Beginning on Tuesday, September 26, the
NYCDOT, Division of Bridges will resume work on
Metropolitan Avenue. Work associated with
Stage 1 had commenced in February but was
paused in July to accommodate MTA construction
of the M Line, which was completed September
Bridge Deck 1st.

Replacement over In order to commence work on Metropolitan


Avenue again, the contractor will reduce the
L.I.R.R. at lanes from two (2) to one (1) in each direction,
and construction will take place behind a barrier
Metropolitan Avenue located on the north side of the avenue. Roadway
& Fresh Pond striping and temporary traffic signal installation
will also take place to reinstall the barrier on
Road Bridge Metropolitan Avenue.
All traffic restriction signs will be placed and
Traffic Agents are already posted at the
Community Board No. 5 intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Fresh
Pond Road. Please refer to the Traffic Changes
Queens Brochure to review our detours.
