(FLEXIBLE EPOXY RESIN LAMINATING SYSTEM)

PRODUCT

EPOFINE 221 is a flexible laminating grade low viscosity, liquid epoxy resin and
FINEHARDTM 964 is a formulated aromatic anhydride hardener. Accelerator 070 is an
imidazole based accelerator. This laminating system has low viscosity even at 25oC and has
good chemical resistance and mechanical properties. The long pot life with FINEHARD TM -
964 facilitates the production of large industrial and aerospace parts.

APPLICATION

EPOFINE 221 / FINEHARDTM 964 / Accelerator 070 system is suitable for processing
by Filament Winding, Wet lay-up and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM, SCRIMP). Almost all
high performance industrial composites requiring high elongation can be made of this system.
This system can be used for flexible castings leading to low iron loss in cores. The flexibility
can be as high as 15%, with neat resin.

SPECIAL FEATURES

The following advantages make it ideal for industrial use.

Simple mixing ratio (Resin : Hardener = 100 : 100 (by weight)

Tolerant mix ratio ( 2%)
Low viscosity resin/hardener mix, ensures proper wetting of the glass fibre.
Good water resistance.
Good chemical resistance and electrical insulation.
Very high elongation.
Good crack resistance.
Operating temperature as low as 80oC.

STORAGE , HANDLING AND DISPOSAL

Storage : Store in a cool, dry place.

Shelf life : As given above, when stored in original sealed
containers at 2 40oC.
Handling : Use hand gloves and protective glasses.
Disposal : Dispose by incineration or as per local regulations.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Flash point : Look for the individual values as above.

Precautions : In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
In case of eye irritation, bathe the affected eye with
running water for at least 15 minutes, and get
medical attention.
