PREFACE
Theoretical knowledge without practical understanding is of no use. Most of the technical institutions are
not able to cope with the fast rate of change in industry, which is now open to global
competition.
Lovely Professional University, Phagwara. Jalandhar. has made a bold attempt to bridge
the top between the worlds or programs the studies being imported to the students. The
educational programs introduced by LPU are practical oriented, therefore every year a
six weeks industrial training is being imported to all the students of different courses.
The main objective of industrial training is to enable the students to apply the
theoretical knowledge to practical situation & to expose themselves to the industrial
environment. It helps the students to understand the importance of discipline,
punctuality, teamwork and also cultivates a sense of responsibility in them. With the
help of training students get exposed to the current technological development & also
understands the psychology of the workers.
Under this objective, the college has arranged my six weeks training at International Tractors
Limited, Hoshiarpur during which I got a chance to increase my practical & job oriented
knowledge. I feel the most of the objective quoted above were fulfilled.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Acknowledging any one in mere words is a very difficult job. I feel grateful to all the
people who helped me in one way or the other during this project, with their able guidance
and valuable advice. All this while, I have gained wonderful learning experience about
consumer behavior, industry responses & working of an esteem global organization.
I would like to thank Mr. L.D.Mittal (Chairman) & Mr. Malkiat singh (AGM & Chief
Factory Manager) who gave me an opportunity to do my six weeks training at International
Tractors Limited, Hoshiarpur (Punjab). I wish to express my deep sense of indebtedness &
gratitude to my esteemed guide Mr. Kulwinder Singh & Mr.Rajesh Kumar for his keen
interest, competent and generous help, and valuable guidance & also for his constant
encouragement throughout the period of this study. I also appreciate the support of Mr.
Krishan Sharma, Mr.K.C.Marothia, Mr. Bikram pathania, Mr. Ashni, Mr. Ajay Dhiman and
other staff members and the workers from whom I learnt a lot in the process of training and
whose cooperation enriched me with synergistic benefits.
My respect and heartiest thanks are to all my teachers and my industrial tutors.
