Air Entraining Admixture
DESCRIPTION:
CHRYSOAir PL is an air entraining admixture, which enables to
form stable microscopic air bubbles in concrete and mortars.
The uniform spreading of micro air bubbles entrained in
concrete, stabilized & effectively protects concrete from frost /
defrost cycles and the action of defrosting salts.
ADVANTAGES :
In fresh concrete, CHRYSOAir PL has a plasticizing effect at
constant workability. The air bubbles act as fine particles, and
increase the workability of the concrete. Moreover, addition of
CHRYSOAir PL helps stabilizing water in the fresh concrete.
Therefore, it limits segregation and reduces, even prevents,
bleeding. The air bubbles network created reduces the
capillarity phenomenon. Usage of CHRYSOAir PL avoids
compatibility problems between cement/sand/admixtures.
CHRYSOAir-PL resists extreme thermal variation and frost
action. CHRYSOAir-PL is beneficial for lightweight concrete
applications, improving workability and reducing bleeding
tendency. It is useful in reducing the density of light weight
concrete blocks, to ensure that blocks meet thermal insulation
requirements. CHRYSOAir-PL, by means of entraining air,
generates cost savings for the concrete producer.

Specific Gravity : 1.03 + 0.02
Air entrainment : 0.05-0.5% dosage generates
5% +/- 2% air over control mix.
pH : >6
Chloride Content : Nil, as per BS - 5075 (Part-I)

Optimization of coarser particle size distribution
Precautions : Not to be stored at high temperatures for
long periods. Should be protected from frost. It is Non-
toxic and formulated from chemicals which present no fire
or health hazards.
METHOD OF USE :
Dosage: Optimum dosage can only be established after
trials, taking into account the rheological characteristics
and the required mechanical performances. Rate of
addition is generally in the range of 0.05-0.5% on cement wt.
For maximum dispersion throughout the mix, CHRYSO
Air PL should be added separately from mixing water.
Should the product be added to fresh concrete, into
the mixing truck, it is necessary to mix at high speed, then at
low speed (with a minimum 3 minutes at each speed)
NORMS AND REGULATIONS :
CHRYSOAir PL conforms to ASTM C-260 & IS : 9103-2007
Shelf Life : If stored in unopened containers at
normal ambient temperatures, a shelf-life of approximately
12 months could be expected.
