DEADLINE: AUGUST 2, 2017

On January 1, 2017, A, B and C, solidary debtors, borrowed money from D in the amount of P1 million
due on or before June 30, 2017. The proportionate shares in the debt of the solidary debtors are as
follows: A 200,000; B 300,000; and, C 500,000. On January 15, 2017, D remitted the share of C. On
February 14, 2017, A paid the entire debt of P1 million to D. On March 15, 2017, B became insolvent.

QUESTIONS:

1.) Can A, after having paid for the entire debt, ask for reimbursement from C for the latters
proportionate share in the obligation? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER.
2.) Since B has now become insolvent and is unable to reimburse A for his proportionate share, is C
(whose proportionate share was already earlier remitted by D) obliged to contribute to the
share of B, the insolvent debtor? If yes, how much? EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER AND SHOW YOUR
COMPUTATION.
