Aadhar Card is mandatory for recruitment in Army

Aadhaar Cards have been made mandatory for recruitment of jawans in


the Indian Army this time and will be verified while they come for
physical test alongwith the admit card during Army Recruitment Rally
(ARO) in Ranchi. A 15 day ARO will take place at Army Ground in
Morhabadi from October 4 to October 18 for which online registration
will be open from August 5 till September 18, 2017.

Talking to the media persons at Army Recruitment Office (ARO) in


Ranchi, Director ARO Colonel SS Parihar said that efforts were being
made that more and more children participate from distant rural and
Naxal affected areas during the Rally.

During several rounds of meetings with the States Chief Secretary, she
has assured us that they will also make efforts to bring more and more
people from Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts and will
assist candidates in filling up their applications online through special
campaigns conducted in those areas, said Colonel Parihar. More than
90,000 registrations were expected against 80,000 last year, he added.

As some repair work has to be done in the Football Stadium, the rally
will take place in the Army Ground located just beside it, said the ARO
Director. The site will be open for registrations early in the morning on
August 5 and will be open till September 18, he added.

Colonel Parihar further appealed the applicants that to fill up their data
correctly so that it does not rejected at the initial stage. Besides filling up
the application correctly, the ST candidates must produce genuine caste
certificates on the basis of which they will be claiming exemption in their
age and height. They must also have to give details of their Aadhaar Card
in the application forms as it has been made compulsory for recruitment
in the Army, he added.

They also will have bring their Aadhaar Cards at the Rally which will
also be verified there online along with their admit cards, the ARO
Director said. Applicants who have passed their board examination in
2016 will have to bring their original certificates with them while
provisional certificates of those who have passed their examination this
year will be valid, he added.
The ARO Director also said that applicants having indecent tattoos on
their forearms will be disqualified automatically.

Tatoos of religious signs however, are allowed in the Army, said


Colonel Parihar. Making another change in the subject wise and
aggregate marks in board examination, it has been increased from 40 and
50 per cent to 50 and 60 per cent respectively, he said.

He asked the candidates to take extra precaution in giving details about


their heights as most of the rejections were done on the basis of rough
height.
