5 months ago, my father bought an new motorcycle. That was " Honda Beats ". I think it was
small light object and easy to ride it. I persuaded my father to teach me to ride " Honda Beats
". Firstly, my father refused my request and promised that he would teach me two or three
weeks later, but I still whimpered. Finally, my father surrendered and promised to teach me.
He began to teach me riding the motorcycle around a field in my village. My father was very
patient to give me some directions. I was very happy when I realized my ability to ride a
motorcycle. " Yes, I can ".
One day later, when I was alone at home, I intended to try my riding ability. So, myself tried
bravely. All ran fluently in the beginning, but when I was going back to my home and I
passed through a narrow slippery street, I got nervous. I lost my control and I fell to the ditch.
After that, I told my father about the last accident. I imagined my father would be angry and
never let me ride again. But the reality is exactly on the contrary, my father was very proud of
me. He just gave me some advices and since that accident, I got my father's permission to
ride motorcycle.
In a small village, a girl lives with her mother. The girl is very beautiful. Every day she puts
make-up and wears her best clothes. She doesn't like to help her mother work in a field. The
girl is very lazy.
One day, the mother asks the girl to accompany her to go to the market to buy some
food. At first the girl refuses, but the mother persuades her by saying they are going to buy
new clothes. The girl finally agrees. But she asks her mother to walk behind her. She doesn't
want to walk side by side with her mother.
Although her mother is very sad, she agrees to walk behind her daughter. On the way
to the market, everybody admires the girl's beauty. They are also curious. Behind the
beautiful girl, there is an old woman with a simple dress. The girl and her mother look very
different! "Hello, pretty lady. Who is the woman behind you?" asks them. She is my
servant, answers the girl.
The mother is very sad, but she doesn't say anything. The girl and the mother meet
other people. Again they ask who the woman behind the beautiful girl. Again the girl answers
that her mother is her servant. She always says that her mother is her servant every time they
meet people.
At last, the mother cannot hold the pain anymore. She prays to God to punish her
daughter. God answers her prayer. Slowly, the girl's leg turns into stone. The process
continues to the upper part of the girl's body. The girl is very panicky.
"Mother, please forgive me!" she cries and ask her mother to forgive her.
But it's too late. Her whole body finally becomes a big stone. Until now people still can see
tears falling down the stone. People then call it the crying stone or batu menangis. ***

Owls are birds from the order Strigiformes, which includes about 200 species of mostly
solitary and nocturnal birds of prey typified by an upright stance, a large, broad head,
binocular vision, binaural hearing, sharp talons and feathers adapted for silent flight.
Exceptions include the diurnal northern hawk-owl and the gregarious burrowing owl.
Owls hunt mostly small mammals, insects, and other birds although a few species specialize
in hunting fish. They are found in all regions of the Earth except Antarctica and some
remote islands.
Owls are divided into two families: the true owls or typical owls, Strigidae; and the barn-
owls, Tytonidae.
Owls possess large forward-facing eyes and ear-holes; a hawk-like beak; a flat face; and
usually a conspicuous circle of feathers, a facial disc, around each eye. Although owls have
binocular vision, their large eyes are fixed in their socketsas are those of other birdsso
they must turn their entire head to change views. As owls are farsighted, they are unable to
see clearly anything within a few centimeters of their eyes.
Owls can rotate their heads and necks as much as 270 degrees. Owls have fourteen neck
vertebrae compared to 7 in humans which makes their necks more flexible. They also have
adaptations to their circulatory systems, permitting rotation without cutting off blood to the
brain: the foramina in their vertebrae through which the vertebral arteries pass are about 10
times the diameter of the artery, instead of about the same size as the artery as in humans.
The smallest owl-weighing as little as 31 grams (1 oz) and measuring some 13.5 centimetres
(5 in)-is the elf owl. However, the heaviest (and largest winged) owls are two similarly-sized
eagle owls; the Eurasian eagle-owl and Blakiston's fish owl. These two species, which are
on average about 2.53 cm (1.00 in) shorter in length than the great grey, can both attain a
wingspan of 2 m (6.6 ft) and a weight of 4.5 kg (10 lb) in the largest females.

Throughout history, people have been the victim of pickpockets. Today, pick pocketing is one
of the most rapidly increasing crimes. Pickpockets are increasing in number and developing
better methods to practice their skill. Approximately one million Americans lose money to
pickpockets every year, and none is really safe from a skilled pickpockets. His victims, or
marks as they are called, can be rich or poor, young or old.
During the eighteenth century, pickpockets were hanged in England, large crowds of
people would gather to watch the hanging, which was supposed to be a warning to other
pickpockets. However, in time the practice was discontinued. The reason: while people were
attentively watching the hanging of a pickpocket, other pickpockets skillfully stole the money
of the spectators.
Police official say that the most efficient pickpockets come from South America. Many of
these expert pickpockets are trained in special school called Jingle Bell School. A
pickpockets graduate from J.B.S when he is able to a steal a wallet from a dresses dummy
(mannequin) that has bells inside its pockets.
14
Even the most well-dressed, respectable person may be a pickpocket. Some of the
favorite places of pickpockets are banks, airport, racetrack, supermarkets, elevators, and train
and bus stations. Oftentimes a pickpocket will work with another pickpocket as his partner.
Another kind of pickpockets works outside or inside bars and specialize in stealing from
women is called a purse snatcher.

when in the midst of large gathering of the people.

Jakarta. The Foreign Ministry in Jakarta has confirmed reports that two Indonesian citizens

Arrmanatha Nasir told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday. He declined to identify the

15
related to incident, but that the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo was working with Japanese
authorities to ensure the citizens legal rights were upheld.

although two Indonesians were arrested.
Were checking whether this was a request from the arrested individuals. Were still

Before the first telephone had been invented by Joseph Bell, there were no other means to
communicate from long distances except by telegraph or letters. This fact had set certain
limits on the number of people one could contact at a distance; besides, communications were
much slower than today. With the invention of the Internet, communicating with the whole
world through a personal computer has become a reality. However, the true revolution in
16
communication occurred when Mark Zuckerberg introduced his creation: Facebook. While
being attractive for people all over the world, Zuckerbergs social network also possesses
serious threats and setbacks which may not be obvious at first glance.
Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with people who are far away. People who
use Facebook tend to feel like they are in touch with the rest of the world regardless of
distances, and this sensation makes them feel better. Facebook is a reasonable option for
people who want to stay updated with the news of the topics which are of interest to them.
Joining various communities regarding all kinds of activities, and receiving updates from
them turn Facebook into an easy-to-use, completely customizable newsline. Hence,
Facebook can be a useful tool for those who need to receive operational and fresh
information.
At the same time, Facebook is known to be a factor which distorts ones perception of
reality, declines satisfaction of ones life and personality, and negatively affects relationships
between people. People who use Facebook often display a growing dissatisfaction with
their lives. The most common emotion experienced by people who regularly use
Facebook is envy. This is due to the fact that people usually do their best to make their lives
look better than they are in reality, and at the same time believe in the reality of virtual
lives created by other Facebook users.
Facebook is a tool which should be used with caution. Though it is a convenient way
to stay in touch with friends and acquaintances who live far away, and to stay updated about
events which are of interest for a particular person, it can also have negative impacts on ones
personality. The relationship Facebook has with the world is bittersweet: but we may witness
its relationship turn for the worse in the coming decades.
