REAL FLOW 610

REAL FLOW 610, a high-range water-reducing and strength-accelerating admixture for concrete that complies
with ASTM C494 Type A and Type F, BS 5075 and UNI No. 8145 specifications.
General The dispersing and fluidifying properties of REAL FLOW 610 inhibits the natural
Description agglomeration of cement particles in water to a degree of repellency not achievableby
conventional admixtures. The improved dispersion of cement particles increases
cohesion, both in the flowing and plastic consistency. This increase in cohesion
minimizes segregation and bleeding in high quality concrete with exceptional high
early and ultimate strength

Recommended Pumped concrete

for
Slender structures

Precast and pre-stressed concrete

Structures with congested reinforcements

Early removal of formwork for faster turnover

Advantages / High workability without segregation

Benefits Improves cohesion and reduces bleeding
Minimal compaction
Improved pumpability
Increased compressive and flexural strength at one day
Reduced permeability
Normal set without retardation

Properties REAL FLOW 610 is formulated from a blend of modified sulphonated napthalene that
gives a substantially longer working life than melamine-based superplasticizer and it
does not contain calcium chloride.

Recommended Dosage Real FLOW 610 is recommended at a dosage rate of 700ml to 1000 ml per 100kg
cement for most concrete mixes containing average concrete ingredients.

The dosage rate can be modified to fit variations in cement, aggregate or job conditions
or where special performance characteristics are required. It is recommended that
special mix designs dosage rate outside recommended rate be developed in
consultation with our representatives to achieve specific requirements.

At the recommended dosage rate of REAL FLOW 610 doest not affect the setting time
of the concrete but at a higher dosage slight retardation may occur.

Packaging REAL FLOW 610 is supplied in by bulk metered tanker or sealed 205 litre dum

Dispensing REAL POINT SDN BHD will supply and install a complete line of electrically-
operated automatic dispensing equipment. Our technical department can assist with
recommendations on suitable dispensing equipment and installation to meet unique job
site and conditions.
REAL SET 233
REAL SET 233, a water-reducing, set retarding admixture for improving concrete that complies with ASTM C494
Type B and Type D, B5 5075 and AS 1478 specifications.
General REAL SET-233 is a liquid water-reducing and set-retarding admixture for concrete. It contain
Descriptions modified lignosulfonic has been formulated to give optimum performance in reducing water,
retarding the setting to facilitate placing and finishing. REAL SET-233 does not contain chloride
or other potentially corroding material. REAL SET-233 are compatible to use with silica fume, fly
ash and blast furnace slag.

Advantages/ Hot weather concreting

Benefits
Increased workability

Better finishes for flatwork and cast surface

Greater pumpability

Reduced segregation and permeability

Improve Slump Retention at Elevated Temperature

Reduced Shrinkage and Crack

Easier to place concrete, save time and labour cost

Improve Durability

Reduction of coment content without loss of strength

Recommended Ready Mixed concrete

Usage Slipforming
Precast and pre-stressed concrete
Pump Concrete
Mass concrete placement in single pour
Concrete where extended setting characteristics are required
Surface Retarder

Use concrete mixes containing average concrete ingredients. The dosage rate can be modified to fit

be developed in consultation with our representative to achieve specified requirements.

The Effect An overdose of double the recommended rate of REAL SET-233 will result in significant
of Overdosing retardation. When overdosing occurs, it is important to maintain adequate curing so that the
ultimate strength of the concrete will not be adversely affected but will increase

Types of Admixtures

Concrete admixtures are used to improve the behavior of concrete under a variety of conditions and are of two
main types: Chemical and Mineral.

Chemical Admixtures

Chemical admixtures reduce the cost of construction, modify properties of hardened concrete, ensure quality of
concrete during mixing/transporting/placing/curing, and overcome certain emergencies during concrete
operations.

Chemical admixtures are used to improve the quality of concrete during mixing, transporting, placement and
curing. They fall into the following categories:

air entrainers
water reducers
set retarders
set accelerators
superplasticizers
specialty admixtures: which include corrosion inhibitors, shrinkage control, alkali-silica reactivity inhibitors,
and coloring.

Mineral admixtures make mixtures more economical, reduce permeability, increase strength, and influence
other concrete properties.

Mineral admixtures affect the nature of the hardened concrete through hydraulic or pozzolanic activity.
Pozzolans are cementitious materials and include natural pozzolans (such as the volcanic ash used in Roman
concrete), fly ash and silica fume.

They can be used with Portland cement, or blended cement either individually or in combinations.

ASTM Categories - Concrete Admixtures -

ASTM C494 specifies the requirements for seven chemical admixture types. They are:

Type A: Water-reducing admixtures

Type B: Retarding admixtures
Type C: Accelerating admixtures
Type D: Water-reducing and retarding admixtures
Type E: Water-reducing and accelerating admixtures
Type F: Water-reducing, high range admixtures
Type G: Water-reducing, high range, and retarding admixtures

Note: Changes occur in the admixture industry faster than the ASTM consensus process. Shrinkage Reducing
Admixtures (SRA) and Mid-Range Water Reducers (MRWD) are two areas for which no ASTM C494-98
specifications currently exist.
