of the company

1 Introduction
Without any doubt, the importance of human resource management to successful
organization performance cannot be over-emphasized. Human resource management
is an important filed of project management that is explored with respect to many
aspects. Technology has changed the patterns of work and brings the company close
to each other. Human resource management is based on many concepts and an
important concept is diversity at work place. Diversity which is very broad deals with
differences in age, gender, skills, background, culture, knowledge and education.
However, lately the importance of diversity in education has become a hot debate
among human resource scholars in the new business world today because employees
nowadays comes from different educational background and different level of
education as well as companies tends to hire more educated people for their
companies. Education diversity is an interesting topic that needs to be explored in
detail as there are many folds of this topic that talks about the diversity with education
and its impact on the practices of human resource. There are numbers of ways that
diversity in education affects a firms productivity and performance but the most
relevant ones will be identified.

2 Body
2.1 Impact of diversity in education on performance and productivity of a company
As the technology is progressing the way of business is also changing. Companies
are getting involved in global trade to develop an established position in international
business. ICT has become imperative part of the companies and its constantly
evolving nature changes the business standards specifically human resource
management (Gruenewald, 2014). The major threat to employment these days is to
develop best practices for the management of human resource. It is revealed through
literature that bringing diversity in the workforce can resolve many issues of human
resource that are faced by companies these days. This is not just an assumption but
several empirical studies have shown this fact (Gruenewald, 2014). The most common
issues faced at work place are created due to diversity, in other words people create
discrimination due to these factors. Diversity at work place has become a hot debate
since past decades as it brings significant improvements in productivity and
performance of the companies .a study states that diversity is a culture that includes
variation is the age, gender, education, religion, culture, work style and
personality(Gruenewald,2014). Practices for work place diversity defines the practices
of the companies that they implement to achieve a certain target and achieve their
goals. Despite all this fact, it is always important to consider the imperative role
educational diversity plays for the success of a company through bringing positive
changes in the company.

2.2 Diversity in education

All the companies try their best to bring fortune to their company. Success of a
company is based on many factors such as successful project, teams, efforts and
education (Gruenewald, 2014). Companies hire best professionals for various positions
and want maximum benefits from them. Different employees in the company have
different education level because every job requirement is mentioned with specific
educational level that is specifically selected for that particular job. Thus a company
always have diversity in education level of the employees, in other words all
employees working in a company are not at equal in level of education. Diversity in
education brings significant changes in the workplace as discussed in literature by
many researchers (Gruenewald, 2014). Diversity in education is related with several
practices of human resource management. This is described in detail in the following
sections.

2.2.1 Communication
Communication is an important aspect for success during job. Companies consider
communication as an important element that is related to the education level of the
employees. It is revealed through literature that effective communication brings
significant improvements in the companies. More educated people have strong
communication skills and can share knowledge with other employees. It has been
found that employees with strong communication skills can lead company to high level
of success. (Smith, 2015) These are the facts extracted through literature, However,
.argued that in some instances and depending on the organization but for example in
a more practical firm that deals more in mechanical tools , employees with lower level
of education but longer job experience tends to be able to communicate better and
interpret knowledge better. In that regards, hiring employees with different educational
backgrounds can have positive and negative impact on the performance of the
company.

2.2.2 Conflict
This is one of the crucial practice of human resource management. Conflicts between
employees are very expected because it is human nature that they always have
difference in opinions. Companies hire people with different educational background
to bring diversity in the company. This is taken as healthy practice of human resource
management but it raises various kinds of conflicts between employees. More
educated people are assigned with higher position and they are promoted to higher
positions earlier based on their education level (Smith, 2015). Other employees who
are more experienced but have less education feels dishearten and their attitudes
towards the highly educated employees changes, sabotage will sets in which
sometimes might affect the productivity or performance of the organization.

2.2.3 Cohesion
Human resource managers try to develop interconnection between the employees
because connecting employees with each other makes the teams more strong and
leads a company towards success. People with different educational level have
different understanding of the problems and their approaches are different. A human
resource manager intends to make sure that employees are turned into team because
of the general believe that two heads are better than one in achieving organizational
goals. (Smith, 2015). Many studies reported that diversity at work place is hindrance to
develop cohesion because of variations in the level of education. Some researchers
believe that cohesion is negatively affected with diversity at work place due to
negative outcomes. Employees needs to be connected with each other in order to get
mutual success and leads the company toward success. This is essential to develop
cohesion between employees and better connectivity comes from good relationship
that are developed when employee feel equal despite of their educational background
and any other difference. When they fee discriminated they cant come close and
develop cohesion.
2.2.4 Information (
Information sharing is an imperative practice in human resource management and this is a reason of
success for many companies. Human resource manager aims to ensure that information is rotating
among all the employees and all of them are well aware of it (Smith, 2015). Researchers reported
that conflicts are raised due to unequal flow of information between employees. It is assumed in
companies that well educated people understand things quickly and managers dont need to explain
more details while less educated people needs more detailed information in order to understand
about various tasks. Managers often find it difficult to explain everything to the employees so they
prefer to talk with educated employees and others are left misconceptions and less knowledge. Thus
diversity in education causes unequal flow of information between employees.

2.2.5 Creativity
Human resource managers focus on the creativity in the company. Employees with
different levels of education variate in level of creativity. Basically creativity and
diversity are interconnected with other and firms are very concerned about bringing
creativity in business. Diversity in education is the reason to bring different skills to
the company(Smith, 2015). It has been investigated through studies that every
employee has some creativity either he is well educated or has an average education
level. Unfortunately it is observed that creative skills are dominated by the complex of
having low education level. When employees start comparing themselves with others
their creativity skills are suppressed that ultimately affects the performance of the
company.

2.2.6 Performance
A study was conducted with an aim to investigate the relation between the education
level and performance of the employees at the workplace. Practices of HRM are
related with the performance of employees. Human resource manager keeps an eye
on the performance of the employees because they hire the best people in their
company (Smith, 2015). Diversity in education means people with different skills and
education join the company and this is very obvious fact they are differ in their level of
performance. More educated people are sharper, analytical and have good
communication skills which impact their performance level positively. On the other
hand people with less education have problems in communication, needs more time
to understand various things that affects their education negatively. Studies have
reported that performance is related with diversity and people with more diverse
education can play an imperative role for the success of the company.
2.2.7 Satisfaction
Employee satisfaction is one of the important factors of human resource practices.
Researchers believe that employee satisfaction is related to their productivity and
performance. When employees are more satisfied they will perform well and bring
prosperity for the firms. A diverse work environment have positive and negative
impacts at the company. In a diverse setting with respect to education, well educated
people are mostly satisfied people as they get more appraisals from the managers
due to their high level of performance (Kirton, 2015). These people are good
communicators, have more skills, responsive and participate in group discussion with
more confidence. They develop more good relationship with their managers and often
reach to top positions. While employees with less educating face many problems in a
diverse work environment. They often feel problem in communication, group
discussion, developing relationship due to their inferiority complex that is caused by
their low education, although this is not the case always seen but still there are some
evidence of this fact that diversity in education is related to the satisfaction of
employees according to the researchers, satisfaction of employees is an essential
element for the productivity of the company, as satisfied employees can work with
more passion as compared to those who are not satisfied(Smith, 2015).

2.2.8 Turn over

Human resource managers also considers turnover of the company as an important
aspect. They relate it with diversity using different views. Some believe that a diverse
work environment with respect to education level increases the revenue of the
company and this has been proved through several studies (Kirton,2015). Diverse work
environment gives an opportunity to all employees to compete with others, share
knowledge and information, improve communication, learn more skills and share work
experience. All these factors contribute in producing more output that results into more
productivity and company earns more profits. It is believed by researchers that
diversity in education and productivity of the company has close association. As
employees with different levels of education has different skills that results into
creating a diverse workforce which ultimately increases the profits of the company.
3 Conclusion

international businesses are different. Diversity is an important field of knowledge that
deals with difference in gender, knowledge, education, skills, and experiences.

Diversity in education has become an interesting debate and differences in education
influence the performance of the company in many ways. It has also been investigated
that diversity in education affects performance of the company positively but on the
same side it creates issues in human resource management practices (Lyons,2014).
Diversity in education is related to several practices of human resource management
such as communication, conflict, cohesion, information, creativity, performance,
satisfaction and turnover. All these practices affects with the diversity in education that
ultimately affects the performance and productivity of the organizations (Kirton, 2015).

correlated with the human resource management practices that are affected by
diversity either in education or in other dimension.
