"The ductility of the tested columns were computed using the procedures developed by

considering a displacement ductility ratio as an index, these procedures proposed by (Pessiki and
Pieroni, 1997) and (Azizinamini et al., 1999). (Pessiki and Pieroni, 1997) defined column
(displacement ductility) as the ratio of the axial displacement of the column at an axial load
corresponding to 85% of the maximum axial load on the descending branch of the axial load-
deflection curve (85), to the displacement at the limit of elastic behaviour ( y), Figure (4-26-a)
illustrate how the limit of elastic behaviour, ( y) is determined. This mean the ductility is
calculated using the equation as follows :
