The participants of the study were the selected 30 Grade 8 students from Saint Jude

Parish School. The researchers used questionnaires they formulated and validated by some

experts in the field of education. The research design and the random sampling technique were

used in selecting the participants of the study.

Based on the results, it revealed various causes of spelling difficulties such as: memory

difficulties, attention deficit, has good listening comprehension but has difficulty in the aspects

of writing code, vision problems/auditory problems, and lack of vocabulary words in mind.

Moreover, the results showed that the common best practices to help them are reading
