History

The modern world that we live in is literally made up of the technological discoveries
and the inventions done by out scientists and inventions. In the past the event that took
hours to happen is done in minutes in the present times. We do not have to wait for
hours and days to achieve something rather minutes are more often than not enough for
deed. This is basically due to the fact that the manpower has been completely replaced
by the machines. The dependency has decreased and efficiency has increased to a
greater level. Many Inventions in the past are being improved in 21st Century like cars,
gadgets and others. Some are just new discovery.

21st century inventions #1: The Segway (2000)

It started as a well-kept secret. It was an intensely hyped mystery invention that was
supposed to change our daily lives. People in the know said it will completely alter the
way we design our cities and will revolutionize personal transportation. Steve Jobs,
then CEO of apple computers predicted it could be bigger than the PC.

And then it was revealed, on December 2001: the Segway, the invention of Dean
Kament, an American inventor and entrepreneur. The invention which was originally
code named Ginger was a human transporter. The first electric powered
transportation vehicle that was able to self-balance. The first version could travel
smoothly on several surfaces (from grass to sand) and was controlled by the rider
shifting his weight to change the direction and the speed of the device.

The most innovative part of the Segway was a revolutionary technology called Dynamic
stabilization. The technology allowed the Segway to self-balance, while integrating with
the bodys movements.

The invention is still used today, but it definitely didnt materialize into the revolutionary
promise it originally posed.
21st century inventions #2: Artificial heart and liver (2001)

2001 brought with it two new inventions (among many others), that might have not
registered in your radar but made a world of change for those impacted by it.

The robotic artificial heart, known as the abioCor was the size of a softball, was self-
contained, and worked on a battery pack that the user could strap to his waist. It was
made of titanium and plastic and unlike previous artificial organs, had no wires or
connections to external units. When it was first implanted in a human being in 2001, it
was deemed a huge success it lasted 5 months, much longer than expected.
However, since then the product didn't become a staple in hospitals cardiology units,
mainly due to its limited usage and the fact that the product has an expected life span of
18 months.

Like the heart, the liver is also one of the most important and complex organs in the
body not something you can easily replace.

The bio artificial liver uses human blood in one chamber and live rabbit cells in a
solution in the other with a membrane in between. The rabbit cells do the work of the
human liver cells, replacing the purpose of a real liver but since they are contained
within a chamber, there is a reduced risk of infection or rejection. When it was
announced in 2001, it was just approved for clinical trials and was meant to eventually
serve as a liver replacement either temporarily, to allow a damaged liver time to heal
itself, or as a permanent replacement. Today similar artificial livers are being developed
using stem cells.

21st century inventions #3: Bluetooth technology (2002)

The Bluetooth technology was introduced to the market first in 2002. It was dubbed the
first low energy peer to peer wireless technology, and was developed by a consortium
of electronics manufactures, with the aim of connecting several digital devices over
short distances. The concept was first born in an Ericsson lab in Sweden in the 1990s
and went on to revolutionize wireless connection.
The beauty of the technology when it was just launched was that for the first time it has
connected devices from different industries, introduced new possibilities for device
development and changed consumers behaviors.

The first devices to hit the market were Bluetooth earpieces used to connect with our
cell phones. Today, the technology dominates almost any consumer electronic device,
fitness and sports devices, and others in the fields of smart homes, cars, medical and
health.

A recent research report predicted 2 billion Bluetooth enabled unites will be shipped in
2013 alone.

21st century inventions #4: Roomba the robot vacuum cleaner (2002)

The Roomba robot vacuum cleaner might not have changed our world significantly, but
it definitely made our life just a little bit easier.

A group of inventors originally from the Massachusetts institute of technology and then
from the iRobot company have created the round robot which runs on batteries and
vacuums your house for you. It has sensors which helps it navigate around the house,
prevents it from bumping into walls or falling down stairs.

In an interview one of the inventors, Helen Greiner said how the company knew that in
order to make it big with robots, they need to come up with an invention that will help
people in their households: every time we introduced ourselves people would say to us
Can you make a robot that will clean my house?. And so they did.

21st century inventions #5: Apple inventions

Not much needs to be said about apple and their inventions during the 21st century.
From the iPod, to iPad and iTunes to name a few apple has changed the way we use
technology to communicate, listen to music, consume information and much more.
The first on the list, the iPod, actually started up as a business idea of an independent
inventor: Tony Fadell. His vision was to take an mp3 player and build a music sale
service such as Napster to work with it. He wanted to build a company around it.
However, Apple hired Fadell in 2001, gave him a team of 30 designers, hardware
engineers and programmers and the rest his history The iPod and iTunes store were
born.

The iPhone concept actually originated as early as in 2000, despite the fact that the final
product was launched only in 2007.

A worker of Apple, John Casey, sent his colleagues drawings of a concept idea he
termed the Telipod - a combination of a telephone and an iPod. That original idea went
through several stages of evolution, with the touch screen being added by Steve Jobs
itself, before we were all introduced to the famous iPhone.

21st century inventions #6: Web inventions and sites that changed our lives

The 21st century is most definitely (among other things) the century that changed the
way we use the web. YouTube, Google maps street view, social networking and
Facebook are just some of the websites and technologies that are today an inseparable
part of our lives, and didnt exist 14 years ago.

YouTube was invented in 2005 by 3 partners Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley and Steve
Chen, and revolutionized the way we consume and share videos. Google maps street
view which in 2007 launched with 360 panoramic images of NYC, Chicago, San
Francisco and many other cities and changed the way we navigate or look for
addresses. Along with many other websites and brands they were all invented in the
21st century.
Kinds of 21st Century Gadgets

1. Apple iPhone

This product is so successful that it accounts for half of Apples business. iPhones have
weaseled their way into pockets around the globe. They are our means of
communication, connection, and even entertainment. As we presumably edge closer to
the launch of the iPhone 5, we can only expect the mania to continue.

2. Apple iPad

Apples tablet is perfectly suited for small-scale personal computing. As such, its found
a home with users all over the world. The iTunes App Store extends its usability even
more, offering up games, utilities, and reference apps.

3. Google Android OS

Were referring to the operating system here, not a specific device. Googles mobile
operating system has managed to find its way into all kinds of devices, from tablets to
mobile phones to smart TV sticks. Best of all, its totally free and open source.

4. Apple iPod

This was a game-changer when it was introduced in 2001. Instead of carrying around a
stack of CDs, you could carry around a small device that contains all of your music. It
evolved into the iPod touch, which is essentially the go-to portable music player.
5. Amazon Kindle

The Kindle has become the household name for e-readers. You can grab almost any
book you can came and begin reading it in minutes without even leaving the house.

6. USB drive / Flash drive

Patented in 2000, the USB drive spread like wildfire as a way to quickly transport files
between computers. You can now buy with capacities as high as 256 GB, and soon see
them coming in measures of terabytes.

7. Xbox and Kinect

The Kinect opened up the Xbox wider than we anticipated. It was initially a way to
interact with games, but its evolved into much more than that.

8. MacBook Air

Apples super-thin laptop was a dream come true for travel warriors everywhere. It
offered everything you needed and nothing that you didnt, sacrificing the optical drive to
keep the device as thin and portable as possible. Today, we have a slew of other thin
and light PCs called Ultra books.

9. Nintendo Wii

The Wii thrust Nintendo back into the spotlight for a bit with its gyroscope-based
controls and its mostly family-friendly games, where the focus is always first and
foremost to have fun.

10. Flip Video Camera

This all-digital video camera (and its subsequent iterations) made a joke out of more
expensive camcorders that used tape and big batteries. It was something of an
equalizer in that it had awesome one-button operation and was super-affordable, all
while shooting high quality video.
Uses of 21st Century Gadgets

3D-printers

So, a 3D-printer is a peripheral device which uses the technique of making a physical
object by layer according to a digital 3D-model. The printing may be performed by
different ways and with various materials, but the layer-by-layer making (growing up) of
a solid object is the basis of each of them.

3D-printers are designed to make the prototype of an object model promptly for further
finishing and making the ready details with materials supported by 3D-printers.

This is a fine finding for a small-scale production. They can also be applied to produce
complex, massive, hard and inexpensive systems. In fact, one may sculpture both a
small plastic toy and a true unmanned aircraft (there are examples like that). Medicine
may use printers like that, especially in the field of making prostheses and implants
(fragments of skeleton, cranium, bones, cartilaginous tissues). They are making
experiments printing donor organs.

Spy Gadgets

There are a great variety of spy devices, from recorders in pens and cameras in books
to flying RC dragonfly-sized robots with a camera aboard.

Since the spy devices are so numerous, well divide them into subcategories:

1. Hidden cameras, night photography cameras and similar devices of video

surveillance.

2. Binoculars with custom optics and devices of night vision.

3. Dictaphones and various listening devices.

4. Lie detectors, motion sensors and others.

5. Tiny size and mimicry a good spy gadget is invisible. Today you can find cameras
masked as an alarm-clock or a lipstick as well as bugs hidden into a network filter or
an eraser!

6. Protection an ideal spy gadget must not break because of water or ground impact.
The devices with high physical hardness and program protection (which keeps the
information from stealing and breaking in) have especially high market value.

7. Large memory the working duration of the most of spy devices is determined by
their ability to register a certain volume of information, and not by the powerful
accumulator as you might think. As a rule, in micro cameras and bugs the memory
ends faster than the battery does. That is why, the devices which can provide many
hours of listening and video shooting are of special value.

Leaders of sales: The market of spy gadgets is occupied by Chinese manufacturers

which do not tend to announce themselves. Due to their illegal production they are
hiding under insignificant trading names. So, you have to choose a product almost
blindfold. You may only hope that your friend or any experienced user will advise you
what spy gadget to buy.

Prices: Spy gadgets made in China are possible to buy for funny money. Dictaphones
and micro cameras are sold for 30-40 $. The models of higher quality will cost 100-200
bucks. Real tracking and surveillance systems cost real money, in addition to
prosecution.

Prospects of the field: For the moment the usage of spy gadgets is legally prohibited
in most countries. Some legislations leave loopholes, others prohibit totally. As a result,
there are no spy products by famous hi-tech brands. The most of devices that are still
put on the market are of low quality, they havent an adequate system of warranty, but
then they have permanent bugs and lags.

It does not mean that there is no social demand for devices like that. However, the
problem of spy things legalization will be solved hard and slowly. Till now the arguments
contra overweight those of pro.
Gaming Gadgets

Gaming gadgets may be divided into three main categories:

Devices making the gaming process possible (computers, pads)

Accessories improving the gaming world (monitors, speakers, earphones)

Controllers designed particularly for gaming (mice, keyboards, and gamepads).

As a rule, gadgets for gaming represent modified, downloaded versions of existing

devices. They have been made more ergonomic, supplied with special buttons and
gaming services, made in the fan style of some popular game.

Here we are not going to discuss gaming computers and pads. Well look up at various
accessories for gaming comps.

Key features: Comfort

Special functions

1. Comfort: It is especially important to feel comfortable during a prolonged gaming

process. You cant endure many hours of a battle if your hands are callous. That is why
headset overweighed by a gram, uncomfortable mouse, keyboard complicated by extra
details can depreciate all efforts of designers.

Choosing a gaming device, one should consider not only the price and characteristics,
but also its fitting to ones hand or head. This rule is true for all controllers, from the
ordinary mouse to VR helmet.

The best gaming monitor also must be convenient! No doubt, the display placed at a
wrong angle, inadequate size and bad matrix may poison your enjoyment and turn your
favorite game into a real nightmare. The fact has been proved by prolonged experience
of world gaming.

2. Special functions: In fact, gaming gadgets are chosen according to tastes of buyers.
Do you like shooters? You need definite accessories.
Do you appreciate RPG? So, you have to be interested in a mouse for MMORPG. Or,
for example, MOBA gaming mouse, if you like this kind of games. Designers have
already learned to make gadgets for a definite gaming sector. The mice for shooters
are provided with buttons of accurate aiming and smooth step. The keyboards for
strategies are provided with other hot buttons. Nothing to be surprised with, in the
world of mobile gadgets you may find even the complete set of devices for fans of
Starcraft which is also rich in special functions and services.

Leaders of sales: Razer, Saitek, SteelSeries, Mad Catz, Logitech

Price: As a rule, the prices for this sort of gadgets are raised too high. Marketers love to
get their profits using gaming fans. As statistical data have shown, the latter dont mind
paying extra ten dollars or even more for the full in-game feeling.

Market prospects: The most promising is the market sector of mobile gaming gadgets.
Smart phones and pads have already left consoles behind and now are catching up with
personal computers. The developers of games have been adjusting their elaborations to
a new gaming platform. The market has already been offering gamepads for mobile
gaming. See Gadgets-Reviews Portal for a detailed treatment of this point.

Smart Phones

Smart phone is a mobile phone that once wanted to become something more! As
Scarecrow once got the brain from the wizard of OZ, this phone got its brain from the
genii of computer world. Then it has learned various functions, possibilities, services.
Smart phones differ from ordinary mobile phones by their developed operative system
open for further program elaborating. Without this OS youd never know your favorite
angry birds, navigators, barcode scanners, or any other advantages of mobile life.

One more thing! Installation of additional applications let you significantly improve the
functionality of a smart phone compared with an ordinary mobile phone.
In late 1900s smart phones had finally squeezed classic mobile phones and PDA out of
the hi-tech market. Of course, the latter are still being sold and find their buyers, but
these smart phone ancestors have no prospects for further development, not a slightest
hope.

Key characteristics:

Processing power,

Screen diagonal,

Display quality,

Operative system level.

1. Processing power provides the high performance of the gadget. It determines what
games the master will be able to launch, how long the video will be loading in Net,
whether the smart phone will function in the mode of multiple tasks. The more cores and
power, the better performance and vice versa. Mind this.

2. Big sensor screen makes the work more comfortable and pleasure greater. In this
very case the size is of importance. The number of inches is important for admirers of
HD-video, mobile gaming and a good show-off. At present one can find smart
phones with 7 inches sized diagonal, they being almost like pads. Such a gadget is not
pocket-sized, of course, but then it allows playing FIFA or GTA .

3. Display quality. Like with ordinary monitors, here acts the line of TN-LED-AMOLED
technologies The younger is the technology, the higher is the price. Pay attention at
more advanced screen versions, pixilation and smoothing degree, the number of
displayed colors and be happy!

4. Operative system: The number of adequate and popular mobile OS has already
exceeded the dozen. Its clear that the market stars are iOs, Android, Windows Phone,
in the less degree Linux. The fans of each one are ready to defend their favorites
superiority till the last drop of blood. Actually, each existing OS has its own advantages.
At any rate, buying iOS and Android, you receive the access to as many apps as
possible (including those free of charge). The factor not to be ignored!

Sales leaders: Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG, Lenovo, ASUS, Sony.

Prices: Up-to-date smart phones are possible to buy for the sum from 20-30$ to several
million dollars. The most expensive gadget of this class is Apple Diamond Rose Edition.
One can buy it for 8 million dollars.

Market prospects: The functionality of smart phones increases each year. Pedometers
and pulse monitors, fine photo cameras and listening devices are being installed in
them. Now the smart phone can replace some simple fitness-trackers and photo
cameras. Just imagine what can happen in future!

Nevertheless, their further development is warranted by software, and not by filling. It

is new apps that are the chief allurement for trustful customers. Besides, nobody can
live without communication.
Advantage and Disadvantage of 21st Century Gadgets

Living in the 21st century offers certain advantages, such as a higher standard of living,
but it also has some disadvantages, such as a polluted environment. To begin with,
most people now have more money for less hard work. They earn higher salaries than
before and enjoy better social security, such as social welfare for laid-off workers and
disability insurance. Secondly, because of the advance in medical technology which
leads to better medical care and treatment, peoples life expectancy is longer.
Moreover, most people now can afford to buy foods of high nutrition and enjoy their
leisure time. Thirdly, modern conveniences such as radio, TV, internet, various vehicles
and labor-saving machines in the home, all greatly facilitate human communication,
transportation and housework as well.

Nevertheless, living in the 21st century also has its disadvantages. The most serious
one is the increasingly polluted environment; air is filled with smog and water is
contaminated by ichemicals from factories. Another main disadvantage is the
personalization of human relationships which mostly result from peoples ever-
increasing contact with machines and numbers. Still one more disadvantage is the
weakening of spiritual values. An undeniable fact is that a large number of people are
solely interested in materialistic culture, while neglecting spiritual civilization. Limited by
space, we have to skip the examples.

In conclusion, although the 21st century has indeed given us a lot of advantages, it may
not have made us wiser, because it has also made our earth dirtier, our people less
humane, and our spiritual life poorer, We should continue to enjoy the benefits of
technological advancement, however, we must make a concerted effort to preserve our
natural environment for future generations. Moreover, we should take the time now to
make our lives more meaningful in an increasingly impersonal, computerized world.
Modern technology has the greatest impact towards our daily lives in this generation.
living in a single-click-base society is such a wellness living that will leads to easy
access to information and communication pursuance. Technology helps to interacts
distinct boundaries and connect it as the technology was made for. It riches no
exemption as the existence of its connection is present for communication purposes. It
innovates the way of living of every people through changes of the convinced of each
technological aspects, it gives every human the right for indulgence and pleasure, a
sumptuous living that takes an effort for satisfaction. Hence unfavorable situation takes
place at the most precious lure of the humanity. As a part of growing improvement, loss
of man power is the most mischievous alter or effect of the modern innovations since
machinery and robotics has the greatest accuracy and program precision, it replaces
each mans job for it takes only to program them and operate unlike for mistake-prone
man power. It is also use for system hacking that ruins the aspect of security and
privacy protection. Radiation related has existed due to over exposure to machines and
gadgets. It is a tied-up process to balance each principle of advantages and
disadvantages of technology, but in the proper usage of it, we are able to be a part the
innovation that will surely leads to national and human kind progress.
Bad Effects of Gadgets

Gadgets

They are more than a bunch pieces made of plastic or metal in our lives right? A
decade ago phones were only meant for making calls, there was no thing called a
tablet, PCs were only used to send emails. Things have changed now. Mobile phones
have changed to dimension of technology. Today, they are more than just call making
devices. Tablets are on course to replace laptops. We are surrounded by Gadgets
everywhere. But have you ever wondered how can they affect our lives? Well they
obviously make it easier in a lot of ways but overuse of these facilitating devices can
harm us in lot more ways than we think.

Depression

To define it in one sentence, depression is loss of interest to do anything.

Excessive we of gadgets can lead to depression. Continuous negative moods,
aggression, lack of communication are some of the symptoms of depression. Well you
must be thinking, gadgets make communication easier than can it leads to depression?
Communication here means face-to-face communication. With constant use of gadgets,
one lose track of their surroundings; you have no interest in whats happening around
you because you are too intoxicated with technology. How many times we have
observed people bumped into their phones while they are out with their friends. Not only
friends, even relationships are victims of this problem.

Sleep Disorder

This is one of the least additions to the list. Parents tend to avoid giving gadgets
to their children to certain age because of often over usage of these devices lead to
non-recommended sleeping patterns. Waking up until late at night while sitting on
Facebook has been a problem among teenagers for some time now. Further, these
sleeping patterns tend to develop odd eating habits which affect our health drastically if
not taken

Stress and Aggression

Recent studies have found that smartphone addiction can increase stress levels
in humans. Anxiety, nervousness, aggression are some complementary problems.
Waiting for an important call or text messages further add to the stress level.

Also researchers have found that children who are addicted to gadgets tend to
be more aggressive in nature than those who are not. Aggression can be really helpful
in some situations but it often leads to disputes between two people.

Eye Sight

This is the most major problems related to gadgets. Smartphones, laptops,

televisions all require eyes to enjoy the benefit they offer. However, constant watching
television or using laptops can strain ones eyes. This has been more common among
the children where they often end up with big lens glasses at a very tender age.
Occasional itching and dryness of the eyes are some other problems which can be
caused by the overuse. If not eyes, various gadgets like headphones, speakers cause
hearing problems. Other problems include infidelity (decrease in the productions of
sperms in man), cancer (leukemia, brain, skin, stomach etc.), back pain and adverse
effect during pregnancy.
