To whom it may concern,

I am writing to apply for the position of research assistant at OHSU. As a graduate majoring in
Biology at Pacific University and also a pre-med, I have a deep understanding for human biology
and clinical terminology. Under the supervision of my two researching pharmacists at Pacific for
the past year, I was the primary investigator for my research paper on liver enzyme genotype with
Excel and R-language so I am confident with the IRB preparation, statistical data analysis, scientific
report and computer programming, especially with statistical analysis and data visualization on big
data using business intelligence tools such as R-language and MATLAB. I am currently enhancing
my understanding about SAS and Tableau with online certificate courses.
Besides, I had long-term experience with HER, ICD-10 code and medical scribing when I
volunteered as a medical front office staff and worked as a scribe for a physician assistant in a
family clinic so I am familiar with HIPPA and patient care delivery.
Along with my strong science background in clinical terminology and relevant experience, I
believe I can play a great teammate as I also have strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective
communication. As someone who is hard-working and love to learn, I am prepared to challenge
myself and learn new tools to meet our goals.
Highlights of my qualifications include the following:
- A comprehensive knowledge of medical conditions, human anatomy and pharmacology.
- Able to communicate effectively between supervisors and colleagues.
- Capable of performing computer software, data entry and report generating.
I am excited to acquire a deeper understanding of the medical field and different types of
research methods at your facility. Any further discussion about my qualifications would be
appreciated. Below you will also find my references. Thank you for the consideration.

Sincerely,
Man Thai
