Doll in owl hat designed by Olga Povzun This description is intended for personal use only. It is allowed to sell the finished product moderately with a reference to a designer: Olga Povzun Materials for crocheting the doll Yarn Alize Diva 5 colors : - 382 (nude) for the body - 185 (pink) - 346 (blue - 55 (white - 355 (grey (for clothes, but you can pick up any color you like); Crochet Main Crotchet 2.0 or 2.25 (whichever you prefer) and smaller one - 1.5 for knitting fingers and palms; Material for stuffing - holofiber; Puppet hair tresses 1mm (mine are 6 inches (15cm) long); Eyes - Acrylic paint of black and white color; Thin plastic or cardboard (to make feet, so the doll stands); A piece of ribbon to make a bow; Dry pastel to tone cheeks. Designations: - ch- chain stitch - sc —single crochet -inc - increase -dec - decrease Notice: It’s better to start with knitting arms as they are going to be attached to the body Stuff the arms with filler during crocheting. Right hand — Crochet 1.5 — * Start crocheting fingers first. 4 fingers are similar — Make 2 Ch, then 4 Sc onto second loop from crochet. Then crochet 4 rows loop onto loop. Make a connecting crochet. Cut the yarn. (Picture 1) Now we are making pinky. Make 2 Ch, then 4 Se onto 2nd loop from crochet. Then make 3 rows, on 4 Se., don’t cut the yarn, continue crocheting. Put the arm together. Rowl: - 2 Se on pinkie, 2 Se on ring finger, 2 Sc on middle finger., 4 Sc on forefinger (and then crochet circle-wise) 2 Sc on middle finger, 2 Sc on ring finger, 2 Sc on pinkie. = 16 Se. (Picture 2) Row2 - 5 — Continue the same - 16 Sc. Row 6 - 6 Sc., 2 Sc Bind in by putting crochet onto thumb and palm simultaneously, 8 Sc on palm = 16 Sc (Picture 3) Row 7 - 6 Sc , 2 Se on thumb, 8 Sc. = 16 Se. (Picture 4) * Change the crochet into 2.0 or 2.25 * Row 8- 16 Se. *** Change the color. Take the one for camisole *** Row 9 - 16 Se. Rowl0 - (2 Sc., Dec ) x 4 times = 12 Se. Row - 15. - 12 Se. You can skip it Then put a yarn of white color into the section where nude color transits into the color of camisole. Make Ch, and then bind off circle-wise by Sc. Then make a connecting crochet. Take a color for the bottom, you can crochet the boots of the same color. Cut the yarn. The second leg is crocheted the same way just do not cut the yarn. Bind off the boots the same way as hands. Make a white strip on the bottom and on socks by connecting crochets. Make a pink strip on the top of boots by double crochets. *** Now join the legs. *** Keep binding off on the right leg (the one with cut yarn) Sc till the inner side of leg exactly to the middle - I have 5 Sc. Keep binding off 5 Ch and connect to the other leg in the same way on the inner side. Look on Picture 10. ** Then we crochet circle-wise. Row 1 - 18 Sc on left leg, 5 Sc on chain stitches catching front half loop, 18 Sc on right leg, 5 Sc on chain stitches catching back half loop. = 46 Se Row 2 - Make 44 Sc (blank file) Half of back. We start crocheting it stepping 2 rows away from the spot where underpants transit into camisole. ** First you need to bind off the body with single crochet, just like you did with the top of boots. After binding off the body with single crochets, make a connecting crochet in the end of the row, then 3 chain stitches (descent loops) and turn the crocheting around. Row] - adding in every loop of double crochet. In the end of the row make connecting crochet and then 3 Ch. Row 2 - | double crochet, Increase, double crochet - Alternate to the end of the row. In the end of the row make connecting crochet and then 3 Ch. Row 3 and 4— make double crochet without increase, loop onto loop. Row 5 - change the color, make Sc till the end of the row. *Head* Take yarn of body color, attach to the neck, behind precisely on centre. Bind off the edges with single crochets and top and bottom with connecting crochets (but after you finish crocheting the gloves). ** Gloves ** Start crocheting in the far bottom corner near the back. Row | - 1 Sc., 8 Sc on chain onto the last half loop, 1 Sc., 2 Inc., 1 Sc =15 Se Row 2 to 5-15 Se You can bind off with connecting crochets, but then it’s a bit harder to off the hand. *Hair* Using the pin, I indicate tresses leaving gaps 3-4 mm between rows. I start sewing the tresses down circle-wise starting from nape. The smaller needle step the stronger are the tresses on head. I make 2-3 circles on head depending on the hairs density. An owl cap for the doll Row | - Make 2 Ch. Onto 2nd from crochet make 6 Sc. The tassels on ears and ropes on a cap could be of any length. Attach the cap to the head. Draw the eyes with acrylic paint for fabric, tone the cheeks with a dry pastel, and our doll is done!
