I started in Venezuela, where I stayed with friends Paragraph 3

things that usually only the local people can do, so I
felt at home. This was possibly the best part of the
whole trip. It gave me the opportunity to practise my
Spanish too! After Venezuela I went to Brazil on my
own. The place was beautiful, but it was difficult to
settle in because I didnt know anyone. I also didnt
speak any Portuguese, which made me feel even
lonelier. Eventually I got a volunteer job in a school
where I taught English and maths and also sports. It
was great fun. Then I moved on to Argentina, where
I worked on a farm for two months. The work was
hard and tiring, but it was enjoyable too. After
Argentina I went to Uruguay, and I worked with
children again, teaching them sports. I wasnt paid
for any of the work I did so I had to be very
organized with my money. I finished my journey in
Chile. This gap year provided me with the
opportunity to gain work experience while seeing
the world.
