Man shot by Saint Paul police ocers on East Side
At approximately 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, Saint Paul police ocers were called to the 400 block of Earl Street
on a violent domesFc where it was reported that a male with a gun had red shots at the vicFm who called
911.
Saint Paul ocers and Saint Paul Fire Paramedics both responded to the area. Saint Paul Fire personnel stood
by while police ocers conFnued to the scene.
Responding ocers met the adult female vicFm down the block from the call locaFon. She was uninjured and
reported that she had been shot at twice by the suspect and children were sFll in the house were the
incident occurred.
Ocers made sure the children were safe, began securing the area and looking for the suspect.
During this search, the suspect was located nearby and approached by ocers. Ocers made contact with
the suspect and at some point shots were red by ocers and the suspect was struck. A gun was located at
the scene. The nearby Saint Paul Fire Paramedics were immediately summoned in to render aid to the
suspect, and he was pronounced dead on scene.
Several ocers involved in this incident were wearing body cameras, which were acFvated.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will be handing this invesFgaFon and any addiFonal
informaFon about this incident will be released by them.
