ATTENDANCE
1. A student is expected to attend
classes from the first day of school.
Class missed due to late enrolment
shall be considered absences.
2. Classroom teachers should check
attendance before and after the
class.
3. A student is expected to ask
permission from Subject teacher if
s/he wishes to go out of the
classroom to attend to an urgent
matter. Failure to do so as is as good
as escaping from the subject/class.

ABSENCES

1. a student who has incurred


absences of 20% of the total number
of school days with or without prior
notice is not given any credit in the
subjects enrolled.

2. A student who has incurred 10


consecutive/accumulated absences
without prior notice shall be
considered dropped from school.
3. A student who goes back to school
after three absences shall present a
letter from parents or guardian before
s/he is given an admission slip signed
by the Prefect of Discipline or the
Academic Director.

4. Prior notice of absences shall be


made in writing by absentees
parent/guardian.

5. A student who misses the first two


subject periods shall be considered
absent for the morning session.
Likewise, a student who misses two
periods in the afternoon shall be
considered absent for the afternoon
session. S/he however, may be
allowed to attend the remaining class
periods in both sessions.

6. A student who enters the second


half of a subject period shall be
considered absent or such period.

TARDINESS

1. a student who is not able to enter


the classroom after 10 minutes is
considered tardy.
ADMISSION SLIP

1. A student who has incurred at least


three absences or tardiness in class
will be required to secure admission
slip from the Prefect of Discipline.

2. The following requirements are


needed before an Admission Slip is

3. Any student found guilty of


tampering, forging letters, and/or
making false statements shall be
subject to disciplinary action. (See
Type III under Code of Discipline)

FOLLOW-UP OF ABSENCES

1. A student who has incurred three


consecutive absences is followed up
through phone calls, text messages or
notification letters sent to
parents/guardians.

2. Whenever possible, Class


Adviser/Subject Teacher of the
absentee shall conduct home
visitations.

Objectives:
1. To ensure that every SHS Student
attends classes regularly.
2. To monitor SHS student
attendance and take action to
those who would need
intervention.

Approved Absence is an
absence not credited against the
student and that no grade
deduction is made. This absence
takes the form when a student
represents the University.

Excused Absence is due to


medical reason, death in the
family, natural calamities or force
majeure, serious family problems,
court appearance.
Unexcused Absence
Referrals to the Office of Student
Affairs and Services are made by the
Teachers.

Absence of student for day


shall be treated as is.
Accumulated day or fractional
absences shall be considered as
a day of absence for purposes of
the intervention process for the
student.
Tardiness means a student arrives in the
classroom within the first ten (10)
minutes after the class has started.
A student is marked absent if
he/she is late for more than 10
minutes.

Three (3) accumulated tardiness is


equivalent to 1 absence.
A student who incurs fifteen (15)
accumulated tardiness is
required to report to the SWO for
intervention proceedings.
