PASSAGE 1
The hacker group Legion that broke into the Twitter accounts of the Congress Party, its
vice president Rahul Gandhi, controversial liquor baron Vijay Mallya and now TV
journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar has finally come out in the open.
In an interview with The Washington Post on Monday through an encrypted instant-
messaging software, Legion said the group has access to servers like that of Apollo
Hospitals and it was unsure about releasing data from those servers because it might cause
chaos in India.
Legion wasnt even interested in political data until a few weeks ago. ...the group was
in possession of several terabytes of raw data concerning all sorts of interests and that
within that trove the hackers had identified gigabytes worth of information relating to
Indian public figures, the report quoted the user marked LC from Legion Crew as
saying.
When I asked him how they came into possession of so much data, he was vague, and
said they just ended up with access to over 40k+ servers in India, and we decided hey,
why not write a tool to sift through them for interesting data, said Max Bearak who
writes about foreign affairs for the Washington Post.
He said the data was choosing the targets for them, not the other way around. Whatever
they were finding, they aimed to release. From Dutts Twitter account, they shared a link

In these times of political turmoil, aggressive online discourse, post-truthsociety and lord
knows what else, one thing is hard to deny: theres a lot of hypocrisy flying around. People
regularly and angrily lambast others for doing something, while doing pretty much the exact
same thing themselves.

Pundits condemning young people for being special snowflakes for wanting to be sheltered
from controversial views in safe spaces, then having an apparent meltdown whenever they
see anything even vaguely inconsistent with their opinions. Angry online types who condemn
the BBC for bias while enthusiastically linking to sites that make no effort at all at
neutrality. People who preach tolerance and respect but get outraged whenever anyone
disputes their methods. The list goes on.

Youd think that the highest level of politics wouldnt allow such behaviour, but no,
seems more common than ever there. Wherever you find it, its often infuriating. Where do
people get off dictating how others should behave, putting restrictions on what they can say
and do that they dont adhere to themselves? Its wrong and immoral, and shows that they
cant be trusted.

Or does it? In the scientific sense, hypocrisy is somewhat more complicated. It can manifest
in several ways, and for several reasons, and often times the people guilty of it arent doing it
purely to be self-serving.

35. What is the meaning of special snowflake?

A. people who get angry easily

B. people who get upset very easily.

C. people who do relate to other people easily

D. people who condemn others

36. Which of the following can be inferred from the passage?

A. people condemn others for being hypocrites

B. there is hypocrisy in politics

C. people condone the BBC for bias

D. hypocrites are being so because of some other reason.

give nothing themselves, theyd be considered a hypocrite . But if someone is known to be
something of a skinflint then starts urging people to give to charity, they may still be
considered a hypocrite, but its also possible theyve just had a change of heart. Changing
your mind or working for redemption are regularly
considered good things. ___________________.

A. people tend to react more strongly to hypocrisy when it includes criticism or negative
judgement.

B. Someone boasts about being a live music supporter but is found to never go to gigs?

C. Bob Cratchit didnt stop to accuse Scrooge of being a hypocrite.

D. Hypocritical, annoying, but not really worth getting angry about.

40. A five-week undercover investigation by Channel 4, broadcast on Wednesday night,

out policy, intense surveillance and heightened job insecurity among agency workers. About
1,500 people work at the distribution centre, including hundreds of agency staff, while others
are directly employed by JD Sports. The investigation comes a year after Guardian
undercover reporters found that rival Sports Direct paid warehouse workers at Shirebrook
less than the minimum wage and operated punitive disciplinary procedures, such as a six-
strikes policy. _______________________.

A. JD Sports denied the claims, saying it did not operate a strike policy and workers could
not be fired on the spot.

leader at the warehouse saying to an undercover reporter: No sitting down, no, you get fired.
