1. Objectives
a) To encourage and increase the use of English Language among the younger pupils.
b) To build confidence and sense of ease with English Language among the younger pupils.
c) To develop skills of integrating scripting of music and movement with language.
d) To provide a platform for fun and happy learning.
2. Competition rules
a) Eligibility: Open for level 1 pupils (Year 1 - Year 3).
b) Each team should consist of 5 - 15 pupils.
c) The time allocated for the performance is 5 - 8 minutes.
d) Theme: Choice / selection of theme is open.
e) Lyrics can be original or adapted.
f) Contestants are not allowed to refer to any notes or texts during presentation.
g) Lyrics should not touch on sensitive issues such as race, religion, colour, personalities,
politics, etc.
ADJUDICATION GUIDELINES
2.0 Adjudication:
2.1 Language proficiency: (45 marks)
Marks will be awarded based on the following:
i. Correct, clear and accurate pronunciation, diction
ii. Clear enunciation and articulation and intonation
iii. Use of correct grammar
iv. Appropriate and effective choice of words
v. Fluency
2.8 Judges: The competition should be judged by an odd numbered panel of 3 or 5 judges.
2.9 Points will be counted according to the score sheet and aggregated.
