SYNOPSIS
Building information modeling (BIM) is being implemented in Malaysia aggresively. Private practitioners and builders (such as
Brunsfield, Sunway, Eastern Pretech & more) are already seeing and reaping the business benefits of BIM. Our Government will
be implementing BIM and IBS from as soon as 2018 as part of RMK-11.

This seminar aims to educate Engineers on how to prepare themselves for BIM: What success matrix should they be expecting,
what investment in time and money should they be looking at, and what are the returns they can expect.
BIM is not a piece of software, but the ability for Project Stakeholders to talk to each other and save time on re-creating information.
In this seminar we will show:-
Success stories of BIM Implementation
Trimble solutions which can be used in conjunction with other BIM solutions that are used by architects
What is a Constructible Model
How Structural Engineers can start implementing BIM while maintaining the quality of their Design and Drawings

SPEAKER 1
Mr. WEE ENG YAU is the Regional Business Manager for Trimble Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Wee has been in the civil &
structural field for 18 years, specialising in technology solutions to improve project delivery. He began his career as an engineer
in the civil and structural, multi-disciplinary consultancy. He also had experience in steel fabrication industry from working on oil
and gas projects. He then moved into software sales and management serving a range of building and construction professionals
such as architects, engineers, constructors and owners/operators. With his extensive leadership experience, Wee is currently
holding the position as the regional business manager for Tekla Malaysia. He is responsible for overseeing the sales and
operations of the regional office, while making sure that Tekla users are well served. In 1996, Wee graduated with a BEng (Hons)
Civil & Structural Engineering from University of Hertfordshire and in 2003, he completed his MBA at Nottingham University.

SPEAKER 2
Mr. DAVID SANDERSON is the Product Development Manager for Trimble Solutions Corporation. First with CSC, now Trimble,
David has spent the last 30 years creating and managing the development of market-leading analysis and design software,
including Fastrak Building Designer, Fastrak Portal Frame Designer and Tekla Structural Designer. David is currently based in
the UK. He graduated with a BSc Hons Civil/Structural Engineering from Polytechnic of Central London in 1982.

SPEAKER 3
Mr. JAYDAN WONG is the Sales Engineer for Trimble Solutions Malaysia. Having begun his career as a Technical Engineer,
Jaydan grew his technical experience learning the know-how in providing software support, training and consulting for cost
effective and sustainable infrastructure design. Within the same company, he then moved into sales and focused on the Malaysian
and Indonesian markets while working closely with local consultancies, authorities and educational entities to provide custom-fit
software solutions. Now at Trimble, six years into his career, Jaydan brings his multi-faceted experience to help his customers
with their civil and structural design solution needs. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Civil & Structural
Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
