1941-1950
1941

In 1941 Japanese planes attacked the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor.
More than 2,300 Americans died.
1942

The doolittle raid was an air raid done by the united states army. The
U.S attacked the japanese main island during april of 1942. The air raid
were in relation to the attack of pearl harbor.
1943

The Detroit race riots happened in 1943 in Detroit Michigan on September


20 to 22. The riots were caused by racist white people who were against the
black and hispanic minority. It began because of rumors of racial attacks in
both communities.
1944

The battle of normandy was the an operation between the united states
and our allies to invade the beaches of Normandy France. The
operation was the biggest operation ever done by sea. The battle of
normandy resulted in the german army retreating south towards paris.
1945

In this photo millions of people were celebrating the end of world war 2. On
September 2, 1945 Japanese delegation signed the instrument of surrender
marking the official end of world war2. Although Germany surrender earlier in
the year the war still went on till this day.
1946

King David hotel bombing. This was a bombing not caused as an


accident ,it was a terrorist attack. The attacked carried on monday
july 22.
1947

On august 15, 1947 india was declared independent. India became


independent along with pakistan from great britain. This is important
because just like us and every other country they deserve to be
independent.
1948

During the year 1948 democratic president Harry. S .Truman was


elected into the white house. After the death of president Franklin. D.
Roosevelt Truman ran for president against republican Thomas.E.
Dewey. This is important because Truman became our president for a
full term.
1949

In 1949 the North Atlantic treaty was signed. The north atlantic treaty
meant that after twice of interviewing in 32 years to restore peace the us
and europe would put their differences aside. On April 4, 1949 the United
States and Europe became international allies.
1950

During world war 2 the soviet union and the United States.
However, the relationship between us and the soviet union was
very tense. The United states was worried about Russia's leader
Stalin, who was blood thirsty and wanted to rule his own country,
so off to war we went.
