Oceanography practical

Definition:

Oceanography is the branch of marine science which deals with the

study about physical features of the oceans.

Physical Oceanographic practical:

Salinity check up: we use the Fracto meter at the three different places of ocean
near the Kund Malir fish market.

The maximum salinity percentage we observed about the 45% salinity of sea
water. The minimum is 42% .

Upwelling of ocean surface

The winds bellowing push away the water from ocean surface.

The upwelling is process in which deep cold water rise towards the upper surface
and deep warm water in the lower deeper surface of the ocean by the seasonal
changes.

The changes occurs in ocean water surfaces by the seasonal changes and wind
bellowing have mutual relationship between each other is said to be the upwelling.

Biodiversity

Is the degree of variation of life. It is measure of variety

of organisms present in different ecosystem. e.g.: TAIGA
ecosystem, estuary ecosystem.

Sample collection VARIETY OF LIFE
