The lincoln memorial is an American National Monument built
to honor the 16th president of the United States known as
Abraham Lincoln.

It has been the site for many famous speeches.


1923
The great kanto earthquake devastated the cities of Tokyo
and Yokohama leaving over 100,000 fatalities.

This event happened September 1st and it was a 8.2 magnitude


earthquake.
1924
.US army planes first round the world flight

The U.S.S Shenandoah airship crashes over Ohio.

This airship is important because it was the first of four


airships to be built in the United States.

The first olympic Winter Games were held for the first time
in Switzerland.

It was the first time japanese athletes participated.

The beginning of the Great Depression originated in the
united States.

Oklahoma was one of the most devastated

state.

were drastically affected by the depression.

.Ohio State Penitentiary

.About 320 inmates were killed and 150 seriously injured due
to a fire being started

.This fire was known to be the deadliest

Prison fire in U.S history


1931
.The United States Dust Bowl happened

.The great plains suffered devastating droughts, dust storms,


and soil erosion.

.The farms suffered massive ecological damage done mostly to


the great midwestern and southern plains.
1932
.The summer olympics aka The Games of the X Olmpiad took
place during the end of the Great Depression.

.The games made a profit of $1,000,000.

.There was about 1,332 athletes perform

-ing, 1,206 men and 126 women

.This is important because it was held during the great


depression and not just anyone can pay for a trip to Los
Angeles.
