Lydia Walters was born and raised in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She began her dance training at the age of three
and later went on to be an assistant teacher at her local studio. Currently she is a senior at the University of
Wisconsin Madison (UW) pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in both Dance and Economics. During her
time at UW Lydia has danced in works by Anna Halprin (reset by Jamie McHugh), Liz Sexe, Chris Walker, and
Jin-Wen Yu. Looking to move beyond dancing but still keep dance in her life, Lydia is planning on pursing a
Masters Degree in Dance Education. She hopes to bring the ideals of Movement Exchange (where she is vice
president of the UW chapter), the model of the Dance Education Laboratory (a month long intensive she studied
at), and her love for teaching (which she discovered in high school) together to make dance available for every
child.
