Previously, we have been working with Microsoft 365 applications to survey, record keep, and
present/market data.
Who can think of where these types of skills could be used? (entrepreneurship)
Budgeting for purchases in your room is much like budgeting for start up of a business use
excel. The Microsoft forums activity gave us some insight into how we would check the
marketplace to see if a product we had in mind would be demanded.
When running your own business, you need high computer skills to perform functions like:
budgeting, marketing, human resources, accounting.
Moving forward we will be brainstorming entrepreneurial endeavours you could start now or
in the near future. Today we will start with researching and identifying some online resources
that could help us with business start-up planning.
You all need to start thinking about a business you could start, we will be working on planning
that business for the remainder of this course.

If done properly, presentations can be very enjoyable. What are some things you like about
presentations? What are some things you do not like about Presentations?
There are some common mistakes people make when creating presentations:

Approximately_350_PowerPoint_presentations_are
When you are creating your business plan presentation why would you need to be careful
not to make these mistakes?
What did you think of the 5 main mistakes? (Most are easy to make)
CTF Detailed Challenge Guide Computer 8
-Appearance, choose one or two simple fonts that are easy to read, make sure the colour
works in contrast to your background. Use a simple background that does not take away
from the content of your project.
-Animations are a good attention getter, as long as they mix into the presentation well and
are not overdone, use them to introduce the slide.
-Slides. Do not have more than 10 slides in a presentation, keep the slides simple with only
key points showing.
-Pictures & Video, Showing pictures and video to go with the topic can hold attention for
even longer but too many pictures can be overwhelming for the reader.
-Review before Presenting When everything is completed, ask yourself if this presentation
interests you, will the reader be interested?
Look at:
- Computers effective presentation tips
- Globalization power point
- Business organizations power point
What do students see that they like from the last two presentation examples? What did
they follow from what we just learned? What mistakes were made, where could
improvements be made?
Now you will create a business plan presentation while avoiding these mistakes

By this point in project students may be all over the place in project completion. For
enrichment of those students who are farther along I will ask them to add presentation
notes below their slides. They will be asked to:
Prepare notes they could use to pitch the idea on dragons den, or to a banking professional.
To give them an idea of the detail that could be included I will show them taxi cab company
business plan I created in University small business class.
For those students who are falling behind that need differentiation. I will individually help
them along. Or partner them together if I think that will increase work efficiency.
Partnering with students who are father along is also a possibility.
