I. Academic Training

1994 1997 Began his musical studies in the Filarmnica de Santa Comba Do with
Professor Artur Gouveia.

1998 2004 Studied the trumpet in the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory in Aveiro.

2008 2011 Completed a Bachelors Degree, in the University of Aveiro, with a final grade
of 19 in the Composition course. Studied Composition with Prof. Joo Pedro Oliveira, Joan
Riera, electroacoustic music with Prof. Joo Pedro Oliveira, Orchestration with Prof. Virglio
Melo and Classical Forms with Prof. Evgueni Zoudilkine.

2014 Currently completing a Masters Degree in Music for Vocational Teaching under the
theme Creation of a group music repertoire set to the individual technical challenges of each
instrument in initiation degrees.

2008 2016 Attended composition courses with, Emanuel Nunes, Pedro Amaral, Christopher
Bochmann, Kaija Saariaho and Beat Furrer and also conducter courses with Peter Etvs and
Jean-Philippe Wurtz.

II. Awards

2009 Awarded with the Best Portuguese Work award at the X Electro Acoustic Competition
promoted by MisoMusic with the work TheElectronicSoundsoftheBirds (Portugal).

2009 His work KlankenUit was one of the three finalists in the 2nd International
Compostion Competition promoted by the Casa da Msica. This work was performed by the
Remix Ensemble, conducted by maestro Peter Rundel (Portugal).
2010 Won the 5th International Composition Competition of Pvoa de Varzim with a
concerto for clarinet and orchestra (Ocaso), performed by clarinetist Srgio Silva Neves
(Portugal).

2012 Awarded a special mention in the I Caravelas Composition Competition with the work
Zoey, Two Poetic Images (Portugal).

2013 Finalist in the I International Composition Competition New Composers promoted by

Lisbons Metropolitan Orchestra, with the work Considerationibus (Portugal).

2012 Awarded a special mention in the IV International Composition Competition Fernando

Lopes Graa with the work Trpoli (Portugal).

2014 Won the 1th International Composition Competition Jorge Peixinho with the work
Memorandum of understanding (Portugal).

III. Professional Experience

2003 2013 Complementing his studies and composition practice, he developed a study on
pedagogy for heterogeneous ensembles (in elementary degrees) that includes over a hundred
musical arrangements and original works (Portugal).

2008 2011 Artistic Director for the Youth Orchestra of Santa Comba Do and for the Banda
Amizade, where he developed a new and specific repertoire adapted to the students and
instruments that integrate them.
This didactic work will soon generate the criation of a book (Portugal).

2010 Hand in hand with his professional activity, he created new courses (complementary
educational offers) within the framework of Introduction to New

Technologies and Reading, improvisation and musical creation (Portugal).

2010 2013 Teacher of Classification of Group, Musical Formation in the Conservatrio de
Msica e Artes do Do, and teacher/coordinator of analysis and composition techniques and
Classification of Group in Coimbras Regional Conservatory (Portugal).
