Chapter 4

RESULTS

Chapter 4 has one part: The Descriptive Data Analysis. Descriptive Data

Analysis, reports the descriptive data and their respective analyses and interpretations.

Descriptive Data Analysis

Distribution of Participants. Data in Table 1 presents the distribution of

participants used in the study. 43 (26.54%) of the respondents were part of the institution

for less than 5 years, 67 (41.36%) for 5-10 years while 52 (32.1%) were more than 10

years in service.

The validity of Capiz National High School as Tourism Heritage site. Data in

Table 2 revealed that Capiz National High is valid to be a Tourism Heritage site based on

the criteria set by UNESCO. 155 (95.68%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS

represents a masterpiece of human creative genius; 149 (91.98%) of the respondents

agrees that CNHS exhibits an important interchange of human values, over a span of time

or within a cultural area of the world, on developments in architecture or technology,

monumental arts, town-planning or landscape design; 149 (91.98%) of the respondents

agrees that CNHS bears a unique or at least exceptional testimony to a cultural tradition

or to a civilization which is living or which has disappeared; 147 (90.74%) of the

respondents agrees that CNHS is an outstanding example of a type of building,

architectural or technological ensemble or landscape which illustrates (a) significant

stage(s) in human history; 144 (88.89%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS is an

outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is

representative of a culture (or cultures), or human interaction with the environment

especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change; 150

(92.59%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS is directly or tangibly associated with

events or living traditions, with ideas, or with beliefs, with artistic and literary works of

outstanding universal significance. 146 (90.12%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS

contains superlative natural phenomena or areas of exceptional natural beauty and

aesthetic importance; 150 (92.59%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS is an

outstanding example representing major stages of earth's history, including the record of

life, significant on-going geological processes in the development of landforms, or

significant geomorphic or physiographic features; 145 (89.51%) of the respondents

agrees that CNHS is an outstanding examples representing significant on-going

ecological and biological processes in the evolution and development of terrestrial, fresh

water, coastal and marine ecosystems and communities of plants and animals; and

137 (84.57%) of the respondents agrees that CNHS contains the most important and

significant natural habitats for in-situ conservation of biological diversity, including those

containing threatened species of outstanding universal value from the point of view of

science or conservation.

The level of acceptability of Capiz National High School as Tourism Heritage site.

Data in Table 3 revealed that the faculty and staff of CNHS, when taken as a whole,

highly accepts the idea that CNHS can be a Tourism Heritage Site. This was revealed by

the obtained mean score of 3.96 which fell within the scale of Highly Acceptable.

When grouped according to length of service, the level of acceptability of Capiz

National High School as Heritage Site for those who are working for less than 5 years

(M=3.77, SD=0.89), 5-10 years (M=4.09, SD=0.81), and worked for more than 10 years

(M=3.7, SD=1.11) was rated as Highly Acceptable.

Chapter 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS

Chapter 5 is divided into three (3) parts: (1) Summary of the Problems, Method,

and Findings, (2) Conclusions, and (3) Recommendations.

Part One, Summary of the Problems, Method, and Findings; present the important

points of the study and the findings.

Part Two, Conclusions, presents the conclusions drawn from the results of the

study.

Part Three, Recommendation, offers suggestion in relation to the findings,

conclusions, and implications of the study.

Summary of the Problems, Method, and Findings

The main objective of the study is to determine the validity and acceptability of

Capiz National High School as Tourism Heritage Site. Specifically, this sought answers

to the following questions:

1. Is Capiz National High School valid to be considered as a Tourism Heritage

Site?

2. What is the level of acceptability of Capiz National High School as Tourism

Heritage Site?

This survey study, conducted in September 2016, aimed at ascertaining the

validity and acceptability of Capiz National High School as Tourism Heritage Site

The respondents of this study were 162 randomly selected Faculty and Staff of

CNHS. A researcher made instrument was utilized to gather data. The questionnaire was

validated by the panel of experts in the field of tourism and hospitality management.

To interpret the obtained data, the researcher employed frequency count, mean,

and standard deviations as descriptive statistics.

The findings of the present investigation were as follows:

1. Generally, the respondents assessed that Capiz National High School is valid to

be considered as Tourism Heritage Site since it possess all the criteria set by

UNESCO.

2. The idea that Capiz National High School is highly accepted by the faculty and

staff of the said institution.

Conclusions

In view of the findings, this conclusion was drawn:

1. Based on the selection criteria by UNESCO, Capiz National High School is valid

and acceptable to be a Tourism Heritage Site.

Recommendations

The researchers of this study recommend the following:

1. The researchers highly recommend that students should conduct further

research in order to enhance their understanding in the concepts of

Tourism Heritage Site.

2. The researchers highly recommend that future researchers should

investigate the relationship between tourists satisfaction and intention to

revisit the heritage site.

3. The researchers highly recommend that students should conduct future

studies about possible heritage destination using a similar research

method.
