Here are the latest updates about some of the leading projects and activities of the Wayamo
Foundation and the Africa Group for Justice and Accountability.

Professor of Law, Tiyanjana Maluwa, discusses the importance of


strengthening national justice mechanisms in Africa, the ICCs purported

Launch of the East Africa Project


On 6 June 2017, the Wayamo Foundation officially
launched the "Fighting impunity and ensuring
accountability in East Africa" Project, in Arusha,
Tanzania.

The July event marked the first time that all the staff
appointed to this new court had been brought
together.

Capacity-building for civil and military prosecutors in


Nigeria
The workshops are implemented in collaboration
with the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Justice.

A conversation with Justice Sotomayor


US Supreme Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor
touched on the issue of judicial independence and
spoke about her personal experience.

The South African-German Justice Dialogue


The project seeks to contribute to a constructive, respectful and open
engagement on issues relating to the relationship between the ICC
and its African constituency.

The Hybrid Justice Project


The hybrid justice project was established to evaluate the impacts of
hybrid courts and tribunals on states and societies in transition.
