Introduction to Tennis with Ms. Stachniak


2-3 on Wednesdays / Max: 12 / 6 Classes
AGC’s first Tennis Clinic! Together we’ll learn the basics of tennis (racquet grip, ball
control, basic strokes). Each day we’ll warm-up, stretch, learn the rules, and play
lots of games!

“Come be a Global Team Player” Sports Club with Ms. Anna and
Ms. Forman
2-3 on Tuesdays or Thursdays (choose one!)/ Max: 15 / 6 Classes
Join a new team of friends and play different sports including basketball, soccer,
kickball, and more! Improve your hand-eye coordination and learn new games!

Creative Movement with Ms. Vichos and Ms. Haak


2-3 on Mondays and Fridays / Max: 15 / 6 Classes
After sitting all day, come here to play! This class will use yoga, dance, and theater
exercises to work on connecting our minds and creativity to our bodies.

Poetic Explorers with Ms. Vichos


2-3 on Tuesdays or Thursdays (choose one!)/ Max: 15 / 6 Classes
Everyone has poetry inside of them! In this unit the children will be invited to
explore their hearts and the world around them to discover their unique poetic
voice. We will start by looking at the world through the eyes of a poet—observing
objects from nature, sketching them, and thinking of fresh ways to describe them.
We will also examine, illustrate, and put words to the important moments, people
and ideas in our hearts. Throughout the unit, we will read a variety of poet’s work
and study the strategies poets use, including: structure, word-choice, simile,
metaphor, repetition, and rhythm. Chorally and individually, we will practice
reading poems with appropriate intonation and expression. We will wrap up the
unit with each young poet performing an original poem of their choice!

Introduction to Cartooning with Ms. Anna


2-3 on Fridays / Max: 15 / 5 Classes
Engaging your eyes, hands, and sense of humor we will explore line drawing,
expressions, and exaggerated figures in our very own cartooning workshop! We
will develop story-plots, and create our own loveable characters.
Introduction to Theatre with Ms. Meg Haak
2-3 on Mondays / Max: 15 /5 Classes
Do you love acting goofysilly, making up stories, and being the center of attention?
Do you think stories are silly, or being the center of attention sounds way too
scary? If you answered yes to either of those questions, this class is for you!
Come learn the "ABC's" of theater in a class that focuses on working together to
share stories and express ourselves. Become comfortable with your own voice and
body, and learn to enjoy talking and acting in front groups of others!

Music Makers with Ms. Christiansen


2-3 on Tuesdays / Max: 15 / 6 Classes
Students will explore various musical instruments in this class including
xylophones, drums, percussion instruments, and keyboards. We will focus on
learning basic rhythm as well as working on reading music and playing basic
scales. At the end we will celebrate with a concert for parents and friends!

HEART'S "I care" with Ms. Kristina


K-3 Mondays / Max: 15 / 5 Classes
Share your love for animals our community, and our Earth in "I care"! We will learn
many interesting things about the world around us and will learn how to create a
better future starting right here, right now! Join us for hands-on learning,
activities, creativity, and fun!

Chess with Renaissance Knights


2-3 Thursdays / Max: 14 / 6 Classes
Whether your child already plays chess, or wants to start, thisour class willes cater
to all levels of chess ability. We give students the opportunity to have fun while
making it easy for them to learn the game of Kings and Queens. Our teaching
methodology puts anthe emphasis on skill-building & positive reinforcement,
rather than memorization and repetition. Sstudents will be challenged by fun
games and lessons from our Chess Master.

Ready, Set, Tackle Homework! with Ms. Jimenez, Ms. Phillips, Ms.
Vichos
2-3, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays / Max: 15 / 5 Classes on
Monday and Friday, 6 Classes on Wednesday and Thursday
Feel more confident with homework and reviewing classroom material! Together
we will develop study skills, ask meaningful questions, relax, and play games!

Journey Through Mexico with Ms. Salazar


2-3 on Wednesdays / Max: 15 / 6 Classes
Learn about the history and culture of Mexico through hands-on activities and
interactive presentations. We’ll work together to investigate sculpture, music and
dance and understand how these cultural artifacts relate influence our to our
everyday lives in Chicago.
