1
INTRODUCCION

The present report aims to put into practice the knowledge acquired and the functionality of
semiconductors. In our case we have used the most basic semiconductor component which is the
diode rectifier. In this case we have used it to implement a bridge rectifier current, which was put
together a circuit able to rectify the two cycles of an alternating current.

2
OBJECTIVES

To put in practice the knowledge acquired during the development of the unit 1.
Verify, verify the operation of a semiconductor

3
Development.
Full wave rectifier bridge

In this circuit the transformer is powered by a voltage AC. Diodes D1 and D3 are polarized live
in the positive half cycle, the diodes D2 and D4 are polarized in the opposite direction. See that
the current flows through the load RL resistance.

In the negative half-cycle, the polarity of transformer is the inverse to the previous case diodes
D1 and D3 are polarized in opposite direction and D2 and D4 in direct sense Current as in the
previous case also passes through the load RL. in the same sense as in the positive half-cycle

The output has a complete rectified waveform. This output is pulsing and to "flatten" it gets a
condenser (capacitor) in parallel with the load. This capacitor is loaded to the maximum stress and
discharged by RL while the output of the secondary of the transformer voltage decreases to zero
("0") Volt, and the cycle is repeated. See figures.

5
CONCLUSIONS

It managed to put into practice the contents seen in unit 1, check that everything described
in the theory meets.

In the development of the practice seen as a semiconductor can be a barrier to the current
(diode reverse polarization) or also a conductor (direct diode polarisation).
