Objective format: Students will be able to compare different skin tones. 3. Materials/Equipment: List all materials needed for your activity. World Poster Board Paint Pallets Wood Sticks Skittles Book: The skin you live in by Michael Tyler 4. Procedures: * Ask the stutdents to look at their skin and appreciate the color. * Ask the students to compare their skin color to the color of a certain food. Introduce the book, The skin you live in After you read the book, ask the students what was the food and the tones the book mention. ‘Tell the students that everyone is going to choose a paint color that matches their skin and look at what the name says. Explains to the students that we should not judge other by the color of our skin because we are all different, What matters is what we feel. Think and do. * Have everyone come to the front of the room and place the flags in the poster board. Tell them everyone lives in the same world and that as much as we are different, at the same time we are all the same, ‘+ Passed out the skittles. 5. Closure: While you passed out the skittles, ask them if they see the similarity of skittles with humans. The students should notice that we are like skittles, everyone is different but together we can make a rainbow. 6.
