Chapter 3

METHODS AND PROCEDURES

This Chapter presents the methods and procedures,

sampling technique, the measuring instrument, the data

gathering procedure and the statistical tools that were

used in this study.

Research Design

This study will make use both the descriptive method

and correlation resign design. Under this method, it will

seek to answer the given questions regarding the crime

prevention program of the PNP on crimes against property

particularly on robbery incidence for Calendar Year 2017.

The Researchers will adopt a questionnaire to suit the

present study.

Respondents of the Study

Respondents of this study will be the 100 residents

who are presently living at San Gabriel Village,

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Data Gathering Tool

This study will use of survey questionnaire to

assess the awareness of the residents of San Gabriel

Village on crime prevention program on crimes against

Property specifically Robbery for Calendar Year 2017.

Part 1 of the questionnaire includes the profile of

the respondent.

Part 2 of the questionnaire determines the level of

awareness of the residents of San Gabriel Village on

crime prevention program on crimes against Property

specifically Robbery.

Data Gathering Procedures

Prior to the study, the researchers will send a

letter request address to the Barangay Captain of San

Gabriel, Tuguegarao City requesting permission to conduct

the study.

Respondents will be given ample time to respond to

the questions to avoid errors and inaccuracies in their

answers during the actual survey. The researchers must

explain the letter of intent to the respondents regarding

the confidentiality of their identity and the information

that they wish to disclose.

After retrieval of the questionnaires, the responses

will be objectively tallied, computed, recorded and

analyzed.

Statistical Tool

The data on the profile of the respondents will be

analyzed using the frequency count and percentage

distribution.

The data on the level of awareness of the residents

of San Gabriel Village on crime prevention program on

crimes against Property specifically Robbery will be

analyzed using the frequency count, percentage

distribution weighted mean. Weighted mean will be further

interpreted using the scale below.
