ENVIRONMENTAL MAPPING AROUND THE X-RAY SYSTEM TCA 6 TECHNIX:

AIR KERMA NORMALIZED TO 1 min of CONTINUOS SCOPY,
IN PRESENCE OF A SCATTERING PHANTOM

EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP

Collimation system adjusted to 30 x 30 cm2 field at 1 m from the focus of the x-ray tube;

Exposure parameters: 100 kVp and 1 mA; values normalized to 1 min of scopy;

Equivalent water phantom 30 x 30 x 20 cm;

Focus-Phantom Distance of 65 cm;

Measures performed at two different heights (x-ray tube height and phantom height), in the horizontal,

lateral and front planes in respect of the x-ray system;

Air kerma measures performed with an environmental ionization chamber (Victoreen 451P, serial No. 1420)

calibrated by Global Calibration Laboratory (Cleveland, OH, USA) at the energy of the Cs-137 (E = 662 keV)

(calibration report No. 1470-12-15-2006) (Tolerance Statement of measure during calibration: inaccuracy

10%);

Positioning inaccuracy of environmental ionization chamber: 5 cm;

Time measurement inaccuracy: 1 s (time counter of radiological unit).
