Business Cases for Relational Reporting

In all the following reports where needed proper formatting in terms of color, grouping, data
format and summarization needs to be done
1. Create a template as shown and use it in all the reports that you are going to create
Hint : Create the header as shown and convert to List template and save it .
2. Sales Manager wants to review Sale quantity of products for a selected month. Create the report to
show highest selling product per product line . Optional : Include only those product line whose
quantity of sales is more than a user entered value
3. Business owners want to see sales made by employees. They also want the facility to limit the report
to a certain region, country, or employee. When they select a region, they would like the country
pick-list to automatically reduce to the countries falling in that region. Optional: Similarly, the
employee pick-list should also reduce when they pick a country.
4. Sales Supervisor need to see the sales figures by month and their month-on-month difference. If the
difference is negative (fall in sales) then it needs to be shown in red and values need to be in
brackets. Business wants to give this report a "dashboard" look by putting traffic light images (red,
yellow, and green) in each row based on whether there is a rise in sales or a fall.
5. Sales Assistant wants to see Sales Quantity by Order Method and Months. He would like to have a
choice of either showing full month name or short names for the month names.

7. Business owner wants to analyze product line wise returns for various reasons. The manager
would like to see the results for all the various reasons other than Wrong product ordered. He
would like to focus the report on a selected order method. He would like to view the same data in a
chart as well as in a crosstab format
8. You are a business analyst for the Sample Outdoors Company. You want to create a report that
shows product types that have the highest return rate and how much revenue was lost from
product returns and percentage of returns. The product types having lost revenue greater than 2
million are shown distinctly. The report is called Returns by Product Type
