SAP R/3 Accounting : Financial and Management Accounting
Unit Overview

In this unit, you will look at two key functional areas within the mySAP Financials solution.
Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.
Financial Accounting focuses on the legal, external view of a corporations financial statement.
Adherence to standards is mandatory in the production of these reports. Key modules include
accounts payable, Accounts receivable, General ledger, and Asset Accounting.

Management Accounting is concerned with the internal view of a corporations financial


statements and other performance measurement tools. Management Accounting or controlling
as it is called in SAP, has various tools available to the management team so they can produce
reports that track progress and result on an internal basis.

Accounting Foundation

Globalization and the accelerated diversification strukturan changes in the organization of the
world, making economic processes become more complex. This process would make the
product more dynamic and innovation as well as the use of information widely. All of this has
been integrated and controlled by a brief increase in response. Now is the time to make a
decision based on the continuation of receipt of the information.

SAP R / 3 is an integrated solution services included in the application business activities to all
areas of the company.

Customer Master Accounts Receivable

Customer master record contains all of the information that companies need to gap the
relationship between the company and its customers.

The characteristics of the customer master record is:


- Provides summary of all customer data at any time
- Can access data with more flexibility
- Form a data base recorded otomatisserta on payment transactions

There are three parts to the structure of the master record that makes it more flexible in
explaining the flow of operations organizational structure :
1. General data
2. Data for company codes
3. Data for sales

Vendor master Account Payable


Contains all proprietary information that is required for the gap relations firm and the vendor.
All of this data ensures consistent and to always give you the data upn to date without having
to duplicate them.

Flexible data access
The data base is used to control the payment transaction and invoice preliminary
posting

With mySAP ERP Human Capital Management (HCM), you can maximize the value of your
employees and align employee skills, activities, and incentives with business obejective and
strategies.

The solution optimized each employees contribution by aligning employee skills, activities
and incentives with business objectives and the strategies to reach them. it also provides tools
to manage, measure and reward individual and term contributions.

Representing staffing requirements, advertising, managing, and selecting applicant


correspondence.

a typical process in recruitment may involve the following :

Organizational units

Organizational units describe the various business units in your organization. Several
organizational units, along with their relationships, make up the organization structure.

Jobs

Jobs are general descriptions or templates that apply to several positions with comparable
requirements ,tasks, and characteristic.

Positions

Positions are smallest organizational units of the organizational structure. They represent the
distribution of tasks amongst individual employees in the organization.
Persons

Persons occupy positions within the oraganizational structure. They represent the employees
in your organization. The data itself is maintained in personnel management.

Recruitment

You can use the recruitment component to carry out the entire recruitment process from
entering applicant data to staffing a position. This applies both to external applicants, that is
new hires, and to internal employees changing position.

If you have recruitment integrated with organizational management, the vacancies are created
ir initiated by an internal transfer in organizational management.

Typical process in recruitment may involve the following steps:

The vacant positions are published in job advertisement


The applicants sata is entered in the system (name, address, qualifications and so on)
A complex selection process takes place ,culminating in a decision being made
The employment contrcts are generated for the applicoants who are to be hired
The applicant data is transferred to HCM master data

Personnel Management

Integration between Recruitment and Personnel Administration enables the applicant data to
be transferred as employee data, which you then have to supplement.

Employee data is stored in mySAP ERP HCM as infotype records.

You can maintain infotypes in various ways:

Single screen maintenance (one infotype for one person)


Personnel actions (sequence of infotypes for one person)
Fast entry (one infotype for multiple persons)

Personnel action

All of an employees employment relationship in various countries in the standard system.

Personnel Development

In the Personnel Development component, you can plan and realize personnel development
and further education and training for your employees , with integration with Training and
Event Management.

The personnel development requirements result from a comparison of the requirements of the
job and the employees existing qualifications. The information required for the comparison is
stored in profiles. Qualifying actopns (such as trainee programs or pasticipation in sequence
of courses) can be assigned to employees using development plan.
Training and event management
Training and event managemet is a highly integrated component that supports you in
planning ,executing, and managing your training courses and business events.

Theres are four main processes in training and event management:

Business event preparation encompasses all data you require when creating the
business event catalog, such as the locations where training courses are held.
The business event catalog is then set up that is the dates for the events at=re planned
and created in the system.
Once dates are available , the day to day activities of booking , rebooking, or caceling
business events for internal and external participants can take place.
The fourth main process consist of the recurring activities that are closely linked to
the day to day activities.

Time management

The time management component supports you in all processes that concern planning,
recording, and valuating employees attendance and absence times.
Online by time administrators (using the time managers workplace) :

using front end time recording systems


using the mySAP ERP cross apllication time sheet (CATS)
using employee self service applications (ESS)

Time data is stored in special time infotypes , in the same way as HR master data is stored.

Appraisal

The appraisal functionality in Personnel Development supports you with flexible appraisal
processes that you can use to carry out standardized appraisals with the highest level of
objectivity.

Integration with mySAP ERP HCM personnel development enables you transfer
requirements profiles from positions or qualifications from the qualifications catalog directly
to your employees individual objective setting agreements.
Payroll

Payroll is concerned with calculating each employees remuneration for the work that he or
she has performed.

An employees remuneration is calculated in two main steps:

1. Grouping the remuneration elements, that is the gross payroll


2. Legal and voluntary deductions ,that is the country specific net payroll

Personnel cost planning

Personnel cost planning and simulation can draw from a very wide data basis and can be
integrated with other applications. They can make the adjustments by using a We-based front
end as a simple user interface for planning.
